    It was a fresh install, so the /bin folder should have been pristine. I deleted and verfied anyway. BUT! When I checked the .ddl's in the /bin, there was an extra .ddl at the very end. I deleted it and forgot its name, but something like XGame...Something.dll. The launcher works after deleting that. You may want to check why steam reacquires an extra dll to your game folder.
