If anyone has any ideas on what the character should do next, please post in the comments below the video. This will ultimately help me decide whose suggestions are taken to build the next part of the story

I was hoping Janus would post an alternate download, but now we're getting somewhere.

You can use www.fraps.com to record the video footage.

When recording footage, make sure to use a seperate hard drive with a firewire connection (not usb). Make sure the drive is de-fragged for best performance.

Editors:
Adobe Premiere (my choice - works well with other Adobe products like Photoshop, After Effects)
Avid (Top End - PC)
Final Cut Pro (Top end - Mac)

Others:
Movie Maker
Pinnacle Studio
Etc.

Effects:
Adobe After Effects or you can use the editors which usually come with preset effects.

The intro is really well done. The map fade-in especially. The one thing that turned me off was the old movie look effect, but that's just me.

The thing they need to steer clear of is making the replay system or engine not based on actual Mount&Blade versions. If any of you played Shadowbane, you will know exactly what I am talking about. Once a new patch or upgrade came out for the game, any recordings that you made in a previous version were not usable once you ugraded to the new patch.

Shadowbanes recorder files were in its own format and was not a video format. Therefore you could not export it or view it without loading the actual game and opening it up in the recorder. Once loaded there was still no options to export. The only way was to FRAPS the actual recording.

If they cannot make it to export the movies in a video format, they would at least have to make sure the recorder will load previous version files (for any version after the release of the recorder) so that you can still FRAPS the recordings at least.

Personally, I would like to see an individual program that isn't attached to the main game. A new "record" feature is added to the game, either by just a button or something more intuitive. Then it records the battle based on your settings into a file format to your computer. Then you load the Mount&Blade Recorder player which will load any of those files and play them back for you. They could then probably develop video export options within that new program.

Good idea though either way.

You are right of course. The net will always have pirates. I always thought that most pirates download expensive games like EA games that are dumbed down and actually purchase the good games. That might not be all pirates but I have a feeling M&B wouldn't have as much of a download frenzy as some of those others.

But then again, who knows. I'm just speculating here.

They are getting a lot of exposure I would think. I can't surf the net these days without seeing an ad/link for M&B somewhere. I think overall the sales must be pretty good.

I applied TML's fix and my companions don't argue and never leave your party. Are you sure you started a new game after you changed the code?

The arguing and bickering between characters adds immersion but too much of it can be annoying, so I agree on both points.

I don't know why people are arguing about this. I've been playing M&B for years when other games are played for a week, shelved and never touched again. As far as I'm concerned, I'd pay $99 for it.
