Could perhaps a note be added to the OP about which factions specialize in which sorts of units? Like Vaegirs having good archer units overall, or Swadians having scary cavalry.

Two main reasons I find Warband an improvement were the ability to switch functions for weapons (awesome for so many mods) and the fact that a shield functions a lot more like a shield (making throwing weapons more viable.)
Really? Didn't knew that. I thought that was not possible. When I tried to tweak native or create some troops with troop editor I tried to assign 2 packs of javelins/arrows to some troops but they spawned with only 1.
I'll see what I can do about the body guards. I have already reduced the frequency with which "firing squads" occur - it was based too steeply on your level and progress within the game. Maybe I'll add a game option to eliminate it altogether.
