The book series I found was enjoyable, and I've been liking the TV show for what it is...

That said, a lot of little things bug me (Beocca as a bald normal-looking man instead of a palsied redhead? Alfred actually being a half-decent warrior? A greater focus on Uhtred's militant defense of his paganism?  Serpent-Breath being way too ornate?  And of course 2/3 of Book 1 being covered in the course of the Pilot episode). That said, I can watch, and truly enjoy it on its own. Just not as an adaptation of Cornwell's work.

G_Los also hit on a lot of the toher things that annoyed me.  Uhtred was TAKEN to Eoferwic to learn how to be a proper ruler...not hidden away because he's the 'future' of Bebbanburg...and I was hoping for a rather impressive setpiece battle where the Danes draw the Saxons in through a broken section of wall before being trapped from two sides...

Eh, again, good stuff, just not a terribly faithful interpretation of the novels.

Probably noted before, but whenever a projectile hits water/ice on the battle map I get an error scroll about there not being(I think) any sort of splash animation for the projectiles.  Don't have a screencap but I'll put one up shortly.

Also, the Eastern rifle lacks textures from from midway along the hand grip to the muzzle.

I had no idea that was even an option!  I'll give it a shot in the future.

But wasn't there a semi-autonomous princedom in former Poland...Krakow I think, or was that also re-absorbed back into whoever owned it by 1860?

How far back?  I've looked through all 15 pages and haven't seen anything...just a few mentions in the first 3-4 pages of it being available, during the January alpha (which you can't seem to download anymore) but no words on how to get it working with teh current version.

Is this compatible with Julu70's 1.40 bugfix fan-patch thing, or do I have to manually make the changes in his files in order for this to work right?

Not sure if it's been answere elsewhere but figured itw as worth asking here: is there any way to expand the camera range in Mexico and the far western US?  I'm finding that playing in those regions is very difficult, to say the least, on account of the camera not letting me get a good angle on those sections.  I can control my army out there, but for whatever reason, the static camera border is significantly to the east of the westernmost areas of the map.  Any plans on fixing that up in the next version (that is, after .99m), or is there already an existing workaround for this issue?

Windows 8, and that wasn't the issue.  Looking the errors over, it was mostly that Google was closing the connection randomly and because it closed improperly or something the cache was corrupted.  So had to clean it every time I restarted the connection.

I finally got it working and done - damn thing had to be cleaned up every single time it broke down though...but it eventually got done.  Ah well, it's all behind now.

Been playing for the past hour or so and I must say, it's a lot of fun. 

And doesn't seem to be working - it just means that I get to re-download everything to more or less the same point before getting the error.  I've done this a good three or four times, still getting just the music and the one txt file.
