1. From what I have read, peasents manage to make more food then they eat, so only troops actually damage your food. (Explanation for -Food)

2. Crafters are useless from what I have read as well, they are just peasents with better stuff at the moment, you are better off training others.

3. As Pvt said, you only get resources every month. But not everytime a month ends, everytime a month has passed since you claimed your settlement.

4. For the Caravans, it requires the sender (Custom/Castle Town) to be a faction, Either Player, Or Native. So you won't get any caravans untill someone claims custow and makes a kingdom. Well, atleast it needs to be claimed.

Mick B,

Thanks for the reply...so the Garrison is what's causing the food deficit then...that would make sense.

Crafters going to be implemented more fully in future patches, I would hope...it would be nice to see that from among the crafters specialists rise up and become weaponsmiths, armorers, shepherds, weavers, horse Breeders, Blacksmiths, and so on...but maybe a particular town could only specialize in one crafting discipline...maybe.  How difficult would that be to script for?  I'm not a programmer or a modder (yet), but was curious as to how much effort would that take as far as the scripting side of things.

Now that I think of it...Custow hasn't been claimed yet by anyone in this game, though the first game I started prior to installing the OSP project module, I think One of the NPC heroes (Esmirelda, I think), had claimed it and become queen...and Caravans were routinely making trips to that game's settlement city.

Now it makes sense.  Thanks guys!

Just one more thing: putting items on your chest means nothing for your settlement and the population in there!
The chest is for your personal use only. And yes, those crafters are going to be implemented on future versions.

so thats why Ive never seen a caravan (even though I have told the ppl in custow to send me a caravan) except when Ive raided a bandit camp.

is it like everyone can only have 1 settlement? also, how to improve relations with my own patrol? since i raid my resource caravan and got really really bad relation with patrol, they chase me.............

no, you can only have one settlement untill your settlement is upgraded to e2m2 (castle with town) and then you can start claiming settlements for your kingdom ( cuz then your a king)
sounds like a bad idea to raid you own caravan yes... have no idea how to change realtions with them. Your not suppose to get bad relations with them in the first place, hehe.

you can only manage your own settlement, others you give to your lords.  you'll be able to do some things to help them later tho.

about attacking your own caravans.. lol.  you might be able to improve your relations with them again by helping them in fights where theyre fighting others.

My question is, if another faction starts a siege battle to conquer my settlement and i ride in it and join to defend are the entry points how you and your archers spawn at the wall also set or is it just a meeting like in previous versions of M&B?

Hello!
I have 2 questions, but first,I want to tell you that Custom Settlements is the best mod ever!It made me play Mount&Blade again...
So,  1.I have uprgaded a village to military lv 2 and civilian lv 2 ( So it is a castle town). The problem is,it has two manors, but no castle...so I can't have a steward...
2.I had one companion in my party:Firentis. Then I conquered a settlement and gave it to him,but then Bandits conquered the settlement. So Firentis has no settlement, and he is wandering alone through the map,but he is still in my faction. The only thing i can tell him is "Your bad.You must die" or something like that. How can I give the settlement back to him?

Well 1 isn't really a question, is it? Go to the bug report thread, tell which settlement that is, and then wicked or someone else will get onto it. The second I really have no idea  :???:

What do you plan on making the crafters do? Control how many items an armorer/merchant has, or how much prosperity a caravan gives, or what?

@blackwarrior: about the 2 manors, which settlement is it?  and ya, thats prolly better in the settlements bug thread.
about the lord without a settlement, if you reclaim the settlement it should be given back to one of your lords who lost their settlement.

@TrickySoldier: i'm planning to remove crafters and replace them with more specific jobs like carpenters, smiths, or stonemasons/etc and they'll be what decides the types of items your merchants get.

are you able to recruit heros from the bandit faction? i noticed you said they were recruit able from the "adventures".

how is a town e2m0 suppose to look like? Im making the lower lvl scenes of my settlement now, and having problems with e2m0. There are tonnes of houses, but the castle, walls and manor is of course gone. That makes a city in a circle around an almost empty hill. Have like 3-4 houses up there just to show that you have a house even if you dont have a castle. But how have different ppl made this scene? Im also wondering about e0m2. Must look sort of silly with sky high walls, a giant castle and manor, but no houses.

@Diavolo : how can you place buildings?can you please show me...i have a village with economy lvl 1,but there is no building...

to place a building.....sure. First of all dont choose a settlement with a name that starts with empt, that means that the settlement isnt made yet. You can just pick one with a regular name like icengard. Those settlements are for ppl like me who make the settlements. But you can however build your own settlement. There is a thread called "settlement scene making guide", where most of what you need to adjust already made settlements, or build your own from scratch is written down for you.

also very many questions that are answered in that thread, if you encounter any problems fixing your settlement.
