[WPL2] [EU] Week 7 Fixtures - Deadline 20/12

We're heading to the very last week of the Ladder Stage. At the end of it, eight teams will make it through the Regional Knockouts to get a chance partaking into the final International Stage.

We already know that out of the 19 remaining teams, 6 are not in capacity to make it to the playoffs no matter their results this week, and this despite having showed a great mentality and efforts throughout the whole tournament. So I wanted to thank Wolfpack, Tranquility, Forlon Hope, Matek's Doughnuts, Bad Name Studios and korwinboys as they all deserve it. It was a sincere pleasure to have you sticking with us until the end and I wish you a very best of luck for your last match. The Weekly Power Rankings of this week will be fully dedicated to you. Let it be known that competitive warband can be fun no matter the result.

As for the rest .. It was an extremely interesting first part of the competition which saw many unexpected results, and made the whole tournament even more interesting. And it ain't over yet of course! Speaking about it, and looking at the EU Table, there are probably gonna be a good amount of teams tied-up in score at the of this week, depending on the results. For this reason, we're gonna make sure to re-count everything, especially BP points as many of you raised some concerns about it. But after discussing it with Gibby, he assured me there is absolutely nothing we can do about the drop-outs besides giving the other team 12 rounds won and 0 lost. If you have a possible solution to this, feel free to reach us on steam or via PM.

Well since the missing BP from the dropouts already caused at least our team to always pick last/late its already too late for a fix, but if you want to use BP again admins need to find a solution for dropouts. Just want to have the best tourney possible
Just for understanding the problem, we played against more of the topteams than anybody else as a result of the late picking, normally with the BP system we would be highest among the teams with the same normal points but we are not because of the dropout.
Giving out round wins is a really poor solution because they dont matter anyway afaik, but i dont have any solution as well x)

Yeah I get that, and as I said, we're aware that the current system has its flaw but neither do we have a perfect solution to fix those sort of issues, atleast for now. BP has been in use for quite sometimes now, it favorized some teams, disavantaged some others, as any other system would.

I've never been a fan of ladder system anyways, I prefer in many ways the ECS system with groups which I find personally a bit fairer.

What about counting rounds won as a second determination for who's top above others? So you get level+rounds, but you basically get screwed during picking nights because then, you can't pick. Your score will be good, but you'll be dependent on winning your next match to keep it up. Basically makes it harder and harder every match (look at GP as a great example of this, each week got harder as we got less of a chance to pick a team, until we eventually [because of ourselves, in this case, but still relevant to the case] had to get the hardest match-up of the tournament), while still letting how good you perform each week becoming relevant (because rounds won == you being better than the rest overall in performance).

This means if you're a really good team, but not the best, and you don't get to pick but get a stronger opponent (in theory), you'd still have to perform at top or sink down for the next week. Where as the stronger you are, the more it favors you; now the tournament might be too short for this to be fair (as in, a 12-0 could just ruin it for teams who get a bare win a lot of the times, but are equally good just having harder opponents, as in 9-7, 10-9 etc), but still, just a suggestion
