Chaos would be very easy, just edit the models for the regular space marines and re-color the textures.

ahh yes, it would be but they would already have a space marine unit thingy and it might be a bit the same (even though i know they arent) so mabye they could do that in the future and put the tau or necons in so it varies the mod to begin with.

Do those help? I think either way would work though, some times in the game they just have the ammo belt hanging out of the bolter.

Do one to start with, but I'm thinking maybe the different versions, drum, box, belt, all with different ammo capacities could end up being the different quality levels? Like you get cracked, bent, whatever versions of things in game now the belt could be on the lowest grade, box on the next better and drum on best. I vote for necrons as the mystery race, there's plenty of skeleton models about in other mods you could borrow and tweak to suit.
