1. Intro
You of course want your regiment to run well, with alot of members and activities around it. But it is very hard to achieve that sort of results. If you want a succesfull regiment you might want to look at other regiment's, not only their thread but also their ranking structure and ways of giving training. Afterwards it is vital that you are active yourself so you have enough time to get known, support your members and create a both fun and disciplined area for them. If you can manage and do all these things you can start considering making a regiment.
2. Setting it up
The most vital part of making your own regiment, which many people do wrong. Setting it up also means you need to find a first few members, preferably one who has been in a regiment before so he can appoint what you do wrong or right. Friends are also a thing usually invited which is good, if you can get around with your members you will surely have more teamwork. Now that you have people wanting to join it, you should take another important step: Deciding what faction, type and regiment. There is a really large variety of what you can join including infantry, cavalry, light or artillery which are all very different from each other and also, most notably in cavalry have sub categories with different weapons and strategies within them. Choose well and make sure you choose what you and your first members all like most! Now you can choose a historical regiment that interests you most, and make a nice thread around it with preferably some historical research, the ranks and your goals. Nice examples can be found in almost every professional regiment in case you are not sure how to do it.
3. Gathering men
There are quite a lot of ways to get the men in your army. Of course the simple ones are going in-game and asking people to join, though do not spam because than people might think you are annoying and wont join you at all, also admins might kick you for spamming. Or fill in the form on this thread: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,140104.0.html . But there are plenty of ways to get more men and this is something to mostly discover on your way through forming your regiment.
4. Trainings and activities
When you have enough men you will need trainings to get your men hardened for future battles. Planning these can best be done on times where the most people of your regiment don't have school and/or work. It also is smart to make more trainings a week because some people might not be able to join that training you planned at first. If you are well trained you can attend events like the Monday line battle event or larger events which once in a while show up. If you do not exactly know how to give trainings than you sure can ask other regiment captains/colonels to join their training for once, to see how everything needs to be done and what commands are used.
Suggestions:
Ask any regiment owner if you and your men can join them for a while, to set up all the ranks and men while still being active. This is especially good for small regiments who don't want bored members to leave.
Contact any regiment leader for tips about making a regiment, I am sure any of them are wanting to help you!
Good luck with your regiment!
