"Oderint dum metuant." - "Let them hate, so long as they fear." - Caligula
It doesn't seem like a good idea to take advice on matters of state from Caligula, if the available sources are to be believed.

Speaking of War and Peace, what did u guys think of the 2007 miniseries, I thought it sucked to be honest but what do u guys think.
To be honest I liked it. But maybe that just goes to show what an uncultured swine I am. I havent seen the soviet one yet, though I plan to, so maybe thats why.
My dad said the soviet one was very good. But in the 2007 miniseries, the smoke from muskets really pisses me off and the uniform inaccuracies too. Oh and what was that red hussar uniform that Kuragin was wearing? I don't recall seeing any units with that uniform.

Probably based on the L. Gv. Hussars.

Speaking of Napoleonic Wars films, does anybody have any good recommendations?

I've watched Waterloo and War and Peace (the 2007 miniseries). Oh, and noo Sharpe, I've watched that **** way too many times .

I don't mind Old School. As a matter of fact, hit me with anything you like, please.

If you can find Abel Gance's Napoleon (1927), consider yourself blessed. It's actually about the French revolutionary wars, but no one gives a **** because it has Napoleon.

Hornblower (the 90's miniseries). It's simply more Sharpe, but with boats

Sven Tuuva the Hero. A Finnish warfilm about the 1808-1809 Russian-Swedish war (also known as the Finnish war). Docm hates it, but I think it's pretty neat experience besides a few awkward historical errors.

The Duelists. Takes place in the Napoleonic wars, but isn't really about the war or battles.

Les Misérables tells about the war's outcome and how it evolved the French society. Plus, singing!

Master and Commander. Napoleonic Russel Crowe, now with more battleships and less songs.

Barry Lyndon, Fellini's Casanova and Amadeus take place in the pre-French revolution Europe and demonstrate quite well the social and ideological atmosphere of the time. They also show the factors that led to the Revolution and rise of Napoleon. And besides, Barry Lyndon has cool battles and fantastic cinematogrophy.

If you can't stand British navy captains toting French flags/uniforms/signals to mislead the enemy all the friggin' time, you should skip Hornblower though.
In Master and Commander they keep it down to a reasonable level, so watch that.

¿Its possible know when the beta gonna be released?

Not at the moment. Just be patient.
I've been patient for like three plus years and I'm starting to get a litttttle antsy.

I've waited for Black Mesa source + xen since 2006, and there was a period of several years with no new content or status updates. Also from 2006 I waited all the way to 2012 for the movie Iron Sky (which was a disapointment, by the way). Don't even get me started with Duke Nukem Forever! And these are just a few examples.

The point is, I'm not proud or anything for being able to wait long periods of time without complaining. In my book it's the most basic way to show respect to artists, their skills and work.

Uh, I already knew about those, but they do not have English (even German I could do) subtitles. I'm not going to sit for seven+ hours listening to just Russian without knowing a lick of what's going on.
