Paradox's Project: War of the Roses - War of the Vikings

Most likely you'll get a decent yet more or less linear campaign to familiarizse the player with the controls and justfy the full price and there's that.
I for one wouldn't put too many hopes on a sandbox type modus.

I'm so sad that Vadermath didn't make this thread... :c

Anyhow. I like the concept and what they let on so far, but the focus on multiplayer is kinda disappointing.

I was on vacation

The concept seems nice, anyway, but I'll hold my opinion 'till I see some gameplay; I'm not a big fan of most of Pdox's third party titles

In the interview it sounds like the dev says they have "whorin' horses."  That's pretty bold and original, I must say.  Game looks promising - I don't think we can ever have too many first/third-person army command and combat games.  Hopefully it's not too arcade-y... i mean, hopefully there aren't big swooshy glowing anime sword-strikes and hit-point numbers floating out of guy's heads.

The trailer suggests a somewhat gritty and grimdark vibe, so it could be good (to me) if they keep the big heroic flourishes to a minimum.

I hope if you win a battle the taverns in the surrounding areas all have to hurriedly re-paint their pub signs into your coat of arms, as that is something that happened quite regularly during the Wars of the Roses.  Usually it was re-painting the White Boar into Blue.  There are still a lot of Blue Boar Inns in England.

Not going to judge before seeing some gameplay, but so far seems just like a big MnB rip-off, really hope its not. 'sides, Warband already has a War of the Roses mod

How so? This is a specifically multiplayer game, the focus of M&B has been singleplayer for ages 'till Warband arrived. Does it rip off M&B by having medieval combat? If so, I'll find you ****loads of games M&B ripped off

There is a new behind the scenes video for War of the Roses at Gametrailers:

-_-  How to spend 2:30 saying nothing. It's a multiplayer game where you swing swords and wear armour. Wow.

Yeah, but at least they show a pretty castle in the background.

It looks like Warband but with not-**** meshes and textures. Gameplay is still a mystery though.

It's pretty alright. How does it handle hundreds of troops, eh? I guess it doesn't yet. (?)

The swords seem a bit too large and thick.

Textures of Buildings and ground somehow look cartoonish. Dont like the graphics that much, I do not prefer this to warband.
