Since many keep asking for Freelancer I made Unofficial Patch that adds Freelancer to your Hispania 1200 xd (english version) screenshot: http://s1190.photobucket.com/user/thewanderingknight/media/hispania1200%20freelancer_zpsm1xntwia.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0 download: http://www.mediafire.com/download/9c59761b34j9hc6/Hispania1200+Freelancer+Unofficial+Patch.7z You'll be able to join armies as Horseman and then follow the cavalry troop tree in Hispania 1200, keep in mind you'll need to start a new game. To install just extract and copy/paste all files in the folder to your Hispania 1200 folder and replace when asked.

My BIG THANK YOU for this needed addon, now I'm very happy  nothing to ask more.

****There is a minor bug or at least glitch, i.e.: when you're in a tournament at PORTO...sometimes your opponents spawn OUTSIDE of the fighting arena.  If you cannot get them...you'll have to quit the tournament.

"P" WROTE:
In my game it seems impossible to rebel against the king, he always awards me the locations I conquer.

It is possible to TXT tweak this...I know cause i've done it for the very same reason you spoke of.  WHY IS THIS SIGNIFICANT???  Because many times I have read where players are constantly being given their properties to them when in fact they don't really want them.  I've often heard of players complaining that they "Wish the King would NOT give them a captured castle and therefore the player would get the chance to rebel.  This tweak can help solve that problem.

Tweak to RAISE OR LOWER the chance of king giving you a property that you've captured. (Ref # 8:cool:

IN Scripts.txt.

Actually this is only a small part of a larger posted tweak but I thought it might be useful.  There are a few other things going on to determine the calculations like:

1st defining the value of towns, castles & villages. 2nd your Renown and relationship with king and 3rd a random number is generated....blah blah blah.

* It then checks whether or not YOU'VE captured the place personally – if you did, it multiplies it by 3 and then divides it by 2. That effectively gives you a 50% higher score for capturing it. You could change these numbers to give the one capturing it an even bigger chance if you like.

To increase your chance: changing the blue 3 to 30 and the blue 2 to 1, that would result in whoever takes it getting it almost always.

To Decrease your chance for example to 1/5th : changing the blue 3 to 1 and the blue 2 to 5, that would decrease your chance for the King to give you the town or castle you just captured.

Tested Hispania by changing blue 3 to 1 and the blue 2 to 5...8-2-15  WORKS!!!

P.S.  There is also the same Native problem that all the lords have "ZERO" for shield skill.  You can spend about 15mins (if you're fast) and use Morgh Item editor to give 5 Shield skill to all lords.  that's what I usually do when I find out the lords don't have it.  Or course...I only find that out by utilizing another tweak that I posted earlier:

How to level up your lords and change their equipment
(Ref #6)  You can look back for that on post # 264

Ok I was playing today and found a REALLY ANNOYING BUG (IMO anyway)...
-  As a lord of LEON for example... they promoted me to "Marshal" and of course I'm able to speak to one of my Companions to ask for a new campaign.  That works no problem.

* THE BUG IS: if you try to speak with one of your companions and you try to END or disband the armies = End result FROZEN Screen and have to close program.

** I think it also happens if you're married and whilst speaking with your WIFE, you try to disband the armies...I'm pretty sure it happened to me one time doing it this way as well.

***  The solution is to disband Campaign by speaking to ANY OTHER Lord =  That's how to end the campaign and let all the lords return home.

Also, I was able to get the Tweak to enable Tavern keepers to buy prisoners work for this as well.

About Tourneament in Porto I confirm the bug, usually I gave up because was impossible to battle the opponent spawned over the list.

----------

Now, here's a new contribute: my own Report of the Unofficial Patch (about Horseman career):

The patch work very well. I have taken the patch, inserted, and tried estensively after have restarted a new game with my own character, Ambrogio da Milano.
I started battling under the Aragonese lord Blasco de Maza, gaining the lord trust, and coming higher until become Horseback Sergeant.
After the elimination of Navarra, conquered by Aragonese and Spanish more or less like will be happen to Poland in 1939 attacked from German and Russian, I leaved Blasco de Maza's service, and I came under Alvar de Vilena, then, leaved him, I choosed to serve Leon and now I'm under a Leonese lord, Diego de Valdivia.

In every service all worked perfectly, I gained my rightful promotions, and I have seen also (IMPORTANT!) that the patch hasn't any bug. When I leave lord service for some time
(usually for sell what I have gained in battles, or acquire some new interesting piece of armor or weapon) the system worked very well, and when I came back to the lord, nothing strange happens, nor the system produce mistakes like consider me again on leave, a mistake happened in another mod, meseem 1257 AD but I'm not sure....

I thank you much the patch creator, and now I will continue to serve my lord and the rightful kingdom of Leon under king Alfonso, almost until I will become knight...and maybe also until all Spain will become totally PINK(Leon's colour)...

A final note: with this patch, Almohades will be well distinguished in the map, they have a nice BRIGHT GREEN colour, and now they are very easily seen! Before, the DARK RED caused some problems of confusion, especially with Spanish, that used BRIGHT RED, and Aragonese, with BRIGHT ORANGE.

ANOTHER NOTE: I have noticed that this patch bring me to put acquired pts in some unused areas. For the first time (meseem) I put my pts into "Horseman Throwing" and my character is become more pointed into personal abilities, learning to use skills for gaining better abilities in saddle or gaining more money selling my loot, while in the other games I have pointed mainly to organizing people, training, and so on, and NPC's was used to have the same advantages without put pts into these skills (e.g. Abraham Ezra was used to gain money, or Ali de Nubia to have a tracker). Now, wiith the Unofficial patch, one must learn more abilities, be a shrewd merchant, know how track armies for come back to their lord, battle on saddle with melee and throwing weapons: in a few words, there's no "friends" that work for you, then, you must learn, and also fastly!

News from the patch:

despite the perfect working of the patch, I have noticed that Spanish kingdoms goes slowly into chaos and anarchy.

I remember another patch that corrected the problem, giving to Christian kingdoms a more attitude to battle Moors than theirselves: now I'm asking myself if this correction can be united to the patch for  make a complete work...

A little guide how to use your new Unofficial Patch at best

Hi,
this guide will show you how to use the new Unofficial Patch at his best, mantaining also roleplay in the same time.

1) Start to think what you want really do with your freshly created character:

Are you for Moors, and want unite all Hiberian Peninsula under Almohad Califate, or maybe you want join Christian kingdoms and be part of the Reconquista?
You like see Castilla win and rule as in real history, or you want try to modify what's happened and give to Almohades, Portuguese or Leon a chance to change the outcome that was already written in real world?
Well, first of all, think at it, and do your choice, then come to

2) Start to make some useful friendship, then go for your new career!

Usually, after you have choose a place where start, you will encounter easily the King and his nobles: well, do some little and easy errand for gain the interest of the ruler and the nobles, and in the meanwhile, if you find some little party of Salteadores, battle them and get money and objects for make some easy extra gold at the major cities markets: when the errand is done, ask to the ruler or noble to be taken in their party, and remember to sell fastly your horrible swaypacked horse, now your lord will give a new, fresh and healthy horse, use this!

3) Remember to control your info panel with regularity:

Usually your info panel will give very useful info about you and your service status: what you are now, how much XP's need for the next step, and so on. Also, you can control also how much rulers or nobles you know, their fame or infamy, and other useful info, because not all nobles come from the same stock, not all nobles are good, chivalrous and like you, then, make some control sometimes will be a very good thing to do.

4) Take your time and you will gain good money and and advance fastly:

Usually the real military service in times of peace is very boredom, and also under rulers or nobles in the Middle Age not change much: a way for change a bit things and make some money and loot, is to ask for a temporary leave, then go to battle bandits and brigands, gaining loot and battle experience, that will be counted in the XP's no. needed for gaining a new place in the noble army, then, for make an example, if you need 400 XP's to become Sergeant on Horseback, and battle a group of Deserters gaining 100 XP, whern you come back and see the info panel, you will see that the need it's only of 300 XP's (400-100).
In this way, you can do some good loot, and easily sell to markets, bettering also your financial status

5) Talk regularily at the nobles (Facultative):

Usually, after a great battle or a siege, talking to nobles augment their disposition to you of 1-2 pts. I have signed this point as facultative because you can do the same when you have stopped your military career and returned at the usual adventuring status, but if you want more frriendship, simply ask for the usual temporary leaving, and check them one after one. It's up to you doing or not this.

5a) [Only Christians] Travel a lot, and make friends everywhere:

As Christian character, you will not know what kingdom will win against the others, and also if you like a particular kingdom you aren't sure that this kingdom will conquer the others. For make an example, usually I like much Leon for this history and tradition, but if Leon will lose, I will go to serve somewhere else: for this, I prefer serve nobles of all the 4 kingdoms, and have friends everywhere, then, when I will come back at my usual adventurer status, I will join the kingdom I like much, or another pleasant in my own value ladder: of course, I will refuse to join Almohads (and with my Almohad character I join Christians only if my sidi the Calif lose).  For the curious, my own value ladder is the following: 1-Leon; 2-Portugal; 3-Navarra; 4-Castilla; 5-Aragon

6) Develop your character more personally:

For what I have seen, the Unofficial Patch give a great chance to develop your character in a very interesting way: you not need to use the usual leader skills, but you can make a real, very powerful warrior on horse.
With my Christian character Ambrogio da Milano, I have pushed my skills to have a good strenght but a very good defense and horsemanship, like a real knight: STR-12, AGI-15, then Sir Ambrogio has 5 in Shield and Horse, he can use every horse and has a real powerful defense with shield, while his melee ability is 4, a respectable +32% on every blow he give: not bad for a member of the lower nobility
My Almohad character (secondary character, in develop) Saad al-Milani, as former university student, then a member of the gentry, and with Arabic habits, has put his points on defense (Shield) Bows, and Throwing on Horse: this because he come from a world when know how shoot with bow or throw javelins in saddle has more importance than be a muscled man with a ton of heavy armor over his body: Crusades has showed that the "lightly armed" Saracens on their fast horses can be deadly like the most valiant Westerner knight.

7-Stay in the line of battle:

One very nice thing to do, and that give great sense of RP, it's to follow the other NPC's in the battle line. Like a faithful member of your army, you must follow slowly the other knights and horsemen until they start to charge, then, it's free hunt, get your prey everywhere you like, only be careful and pay good attention to avoid infantry, they can block you easily, chop and trust your horse and then come at you until you are defeated. Better stay around, and move to battle other horsemen, with a more fair game: of course, when you will become knight, you can charge with all the weight of your powerful horse and destroy every footman that dare come at you, or have a good battle with another knight, with your 50-50 chances of win: knights are honorable, after all.

8- A Knight follow the Code and the Measure:

Oh, grand day! Finally, after months and maybe years, you was knighted from your Lord! Now you have a marvelous charger, a beautiful armor, a lance, and your own arming sword! Very well, now after the feast, toast and cheers, the less better new: You are a knight, and you MUST follow the Chivalric Code. Oh, yes, then, heard from my own fluted voice the basic rules:

a) remove every throwing weapon from your backpack: a Knight must fight only in melee , then, you will be allowed to use bow, crossbow or javelins only when someone will make a mod for adjoin hunting animals to Hispania 1200 as they are already in Brytenwalda mod
Of course, this rule is invalid to the contrary: archers, javeliners and crossbowmens aren't honourable people, and have any right to fill yourself of arrows and bolts. HAHA! nice, mm?

b) A Knight must be corteous: fight his own opponents in front and never at back, otherwise he will take infamy;

c) a Knight must be the first to attack and the last to retreat: this not want say that you must be doomed at the first attack on the castle ladders, as member of nobility and intelligent man you can choose your time for attack, and also where and what attack, but if you start to go into the fray, you can't make a single pace back. Oh, yes.

(Really I amused a lot writing the Code and the Measure for the new Knights)

8a-After have reached your goal, come back at the high adventure:

Well, you have spent your times under lord Juan or lord Ibrahim, and I suppose you had did this because wanted reach some objective: you came from the poor, and wanted become Sergerant? or you wanted be acknowledged as a Knight, and show to all the world how brave and faithful you are?
Well, it's time to come back at the usual adventuring, now: you have developed your skills, your purse is full of money, and you have good armor and weapons, and a nice horse: it's time to become someone in the Hiberian Peninsula now, your name will be cheered by rich and poors, now go in the first friendly village, and take your first hillbillies!

There is one thing I'd absolutely love to see in Hispania 1200: relations with lords increase and decrease VERY FAST, just like in Viking Conquest .
To me, that is necessary because:

1: There is too much lords in Hispania 1200, and slow relation gains means very low dynamic in that kind of mod.

2: When you accoumplish a quest, it is normal that you would earn a lot of esteem from a real person. If a lord do the same, it would be more immersive.

3: Same for relation loss! If you attack someone, he should be very upset.

Of course you would earn very low relations if you only helped into a battle or helped conquiering a place, because you were not essential.

One more thing: you should be able to spend some money (a LOT of money) to gain good relations with characters, because sending gifts was common in medieval times and because at some point of the game, you can become so rich that you have to find a way to spend your money. Most people would pay strong armies with such an income but It would be enjoyable to use wealth as a good way to incease relations.

Well, I want try to reply:

first of all, I will clarify an important point, I'm not the modder, then I can reply only for my own Hispania 1200's experience.

Now, I will reply point after point to Piedàlf:

1) Until now, after months spent to play my character, I haven't found any problem about interpersonal relations, I think this will be good as is;
2) As yiou see, if you take a quest and reach, you will gain some friendship with the lord, and, of course, if you fail, you lose friendship, becuase the lord consider you too green for doing some his errand;
3) Depends who you attack: of course if you attack an enemy of your liege, he will be upset but you (lose favor with you) and you will gain fame on your kingdom, especially farmers or peasants, also if you defend people from other lands it's the same, I have already seen this in the game;
4) why this? Who is displeased if someone come to help in a battle or in a siege? Of course, nobles and kings will be very happy to have an extra hand especially if they are in trouble;
5) There is already this option in the game: first, you must gain a damsel or queen favor, then she will help you to regain favor with the other lords, via gifts.

I'm not the Moderator either but many of the things you're asking for can be adjusted for your game using Tweaks.  I have listed many of these in the MOD Europe 1200 and most of them I got to work in Hispania 1200.

https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,295324.0.html

For example:

Improve your relations with lords and ladies up to "X" by giving them expensive gifts.  Part 1 (Ref #42)

If you're not happy with the amount of good relations that a gift provides, you can change it like this... part 2(Ref # 43)

Not happy with the price of gifts? Part 3 (Ref #44)

Out of 5 pages of tweaks, there are a bunch of them that have to do with relations.  Since both mods are based off WB version 1.153...the files are very similar to each-other.  If you need help with a specific tweak...post which one you're attempting and I'll see if I've done it for Hispania 1200 already.  As I said, I've used most of these already.

One thing need to be changed, a very little work, I think:

usually for have infos about a kingdom, a player must take an NPC, then send it in mission and gain infos.

Why not give this option at the Traveller? He may ask for a price, for example 200 gold pieces. and he will give infos about a kingdom.
I think this is better than take the NPC, then send in mission.

Guys in a couple days or so I'll make the promised new unnoficial patch to Hispania 1200 where the main aim is to fix the issues reported and also add some new presentations like in game troop tree viewer, etc (the base code to be used is the one that already includes Freelancer of course). Anyway ideally pm me the issues that need fix so I don't forget anything ^^ Also do you guys would like that was added the ai combat mechanics used in SoF (ai use the right weapon, etc) and breakable lances? Since this changes a bit the core gameplay dynamics of combat I'm not sure if I should do that. Also looking for someone with decent voice acting to make portugese warcries ^^

If the features like AI use the right weapon and breakable lances are made as options that can be enabled or disabled, I would be for adding them.

Thanks for your work on the submods.  I appreciate your integration with Freelancer.

I don't really intend to add those features, I was just curious if there would be interest in it and if yes maybe. This is not a "submod" though, a submod is a new mod based in one that exists already, this is just an unofficial patch to add to what already exists without changing anything from the core of the mod and to fix what have been reported.

Awesome, thank you very much for your work

I've started already working on the patch, already added an in game troop tree viewer were you can see all troop trees in game, troop stats and equipment. For this I needed to restructure the christian troop tree, they are still exactly the same but now each faction will have technically each own troops while before there was a neutral troop tree pool from where the 4 christian Kingdoms would get their troops, now players can also easily edit troop trees for their own game easily (with Morgh's tool or module system) and make different troops for the factions. Also fixed the prison and castle guards when starting as King, since they had "peon" set to it when I believe it should be the castle and prison guards themselves as it happens when starting normally.
