Towering parapets gave the defenders vantage points from which to rain down a hail of missiles on anyone foolish enough to try a direct assault, and thick, sturdy walls provided ample protection for those within.

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/53

OOOH NOOES they gave trebuchets a fatal flaw in design. Either one of two constructions is necessary:
 • The weight has an extra joint when joined to the arm, this allows it to swing
 • The Trebuchet has wheels and can freely move forward and backwards.

The reason for this is that the massively unbalanced weight of the arm creates a counter force on the frame of the trebuchet. If there is no space for free movement to catch this counter force, the trebuchet will topple over. There are YouTube videos about this. But either of the above solutions solves this problem.

I guess the devs won't read this post so we'll have to fix this with mods afterwards....

Hey, some actually good feedback.

Ours is kind of a hybrid between a trebuchet and a bricole, a bribuchet if you will...

I am curious to see if you will be able to time your siege weapons. Possibly sending in your siege towers first to control the walls to keep troops from dropping rocks on you. Also being able to open the gates from the inside and avoid the battering ram all together if your fast enough would be interesting. Could give us a few more options when you siege a castle. Though if you cant stay out of range of fire it might not be a smart idea to delay if your taking fire the entire time.

That video from a blog made me think of unlocking the gate from the inside. Even without delaying any siege weapons. He made it all the way inside and after spending a few minutes on the wall he just watched from the inside as they broke the gate down.

You can do that. Lust just wanted to show off the gate being destroyed.

Well there is actually a big difference when you start using weights over manpower. In this documentary you can clearly see what is happening: https://youtu.be/QVO8VznqMeQ?t=14m53s

Seeing the size and estimating the weight of this trebuchet, it might be in the range of toppling over. I guess i'll have to fix it with a mod.

Not to mention seeing a stucture as big as this move inspires awe. Look at the amazing forces at work her: https://youtu.be/QVO8VznqMeQ?t=37m20s
