Welcome to Southern Realms: this is Mount & Blade as you've NEVER seen it before. Southern Realms adds a lot of variety to the game, giving you more opportunities, skills, and... and I'll let the features list do the talking, since I'm rather chuffed with it myself.

Features:
- Map almost doubled in size from native, showing the Nord homelands, the mighty Empire of Gorinia to the south, and more!
- An extra 18 factions, each with new lands, troops, and heroes.
- Naval travel and combat adds a new dimension to the game; battle cutthroat Nordic pirates or the proud Alanian navy at sea with 2 different ship types and improved boarding ability.
- Foxyman's formations give you the ability to command your troops with deadly precision, but beware; morale failing is now a real problem that can crush the cohesion of your forces.
- Huge troop trees, including several non-faction ones.
- Religions; join the Orinite, Varalite, or Conirile churches to gain access to their holy men, healers, and (of course) battle-hardened religious warriors...
- Face enemies with powerful special abilities such as healing nearby troops, raising morale, or even regenerating health in battle.
- Become a Town Watch commander, with control over the defences of one of the many new or old cities in Calradia
- Hunt deer and boar for food or trophies; these latter can even be taken and sold to those who want them...
- New locations, including country taverns, two universities, and the rogue outpost at Jarren's rock
- Learn one of three skill sets, allowing you an incredible amount of choice in your character development. Either train as a barbarian with the Doaghan, or an Assassin in the alleys of Harlaushia, or learn the arts of command with general Tataca.
- Pubs are rather more interesting; meet the gamblers and drunks of Calradia, along with new mercenary forces that you can hire!
- A ton of other special features; villages now spawn refugee parties when burned, new bandit types roam the map, several companions require quests to allow you to hire them, and troops can be hired in city marketplaces.
- Other new features include shield bashing and spear bracing, both employed by the AI as well as your own forces.
- Did I forget something...?

Oh, and do please take a look at our forum; any feedback would be really appreciated. This is not a final version for the mod, though, so do be aware of that. Many thanks, and I hope you enjoy roaming the Southern Realms as much as I enjoyed their creation.

Congratulations on this new, impressive release! I'm looking forward to download and test it out as soon as possible. Yet, I'm kind of curious, which version of Southern Realms is this?

I've stopped putting numbers on; I don't have a comprehensive plan for SR, I just do what I fancy when I fancy, with an unending string of ideas. It will thus never be finished, and a number would be an attempt to say how close I am to infinity.

Did I forget something...?

Yep. Well, not really. Have you given all the castles and towns scene props? Last time I played SR, it was still quite unfinished...Which was the main reason I got rid of it actually. It was few months ago, but you never know

Other than that, it was alright to play with the professions and all (the main reason I downloaded it in the first place).

Sorry if you've mentioned that somewhere. I'm a little behind on SR's development since I don't really have the habit to lurk as much on Exilian forums (and I don't intend to start now).

It's not perfect, but it's better than it was, is the short answer. We've mostly caught up with the backlog; Geroian and Lacontian castles, the Red Khergit, and a few other random locations may still have some issues but most places are now fine.

Thanks, everyone.

Please post bugs, ideas, and other suchlikes on the forum as well.

@ Titanshoe: I haven't gone for many new pieces fo kit in SR, it's more about the scripting and gameplay. There are some, though, such as Calradia's earliest hand cannon (which this edition you can get WITHOUT the quest I'm going to script), and specialised equipment for armies such as Aurothia and Alania.

Owane: I'm working on new stuff for naval battles at the moment, so there'll be screenshots of some nice new crazy shizz coming up later today I hope.

Lumos: Source will be released at some point, possibly not until the next update when I'll have made the naval battles code a little more logical. In the meantime I'm happy to post some bits as script kits if anyone asks for them though.

Kolba, Temzu: Thanks, hope you enjoy it!

Whist: I'll upload a mirror when I have time... if anyone else could to save me said time it'd be much appreciated as then I could get mroe work done on the mod.

FG1: The hand cannon is currently only available from Veluca Uni and one type of merc has them... they're more basic than TEATRC ones, this is literally meant to be the first view of gunpowder that the Calradic wolrd has seen. It's a tube with some gunpower in, basically.

bgfan: Most of them have more work that could potentially (and hopefully will) be done on them, but none are, on the other hand "half-working" - they all function as they should.

Can you please upload it on another server?A file-hosting site would be cool, such as Megaupload. My download always interrupts after downloading 40mb,and also it goes slow.
