Viking Conquest breaks NW text.

or specifically, not having it breaks NW.

If a user does not have VC installed all of the text in NW will show up as blurry and unreadable.

This problem is known to Taleworlds, FSE as well as the viking team. However since it is caused by the latest patch made by taleworlds / viking, FSE can't do much about it except wait.
