Add in a clan on elephant lords that come in through the d'shar desert that'd be pretty epic. I don't know why elephants and deserts would fit together but the Persians used them and the Carthaginians (hardly in deserts). I'm pretty sure there are elephants in some mods already it shouldn't be to hard to find and ask permission.

FIRST OF ALL: Amazing Mod. Started playing 3 yrs ago, and always came back. Currently on my 3rd playthrough (and dozens failed games, lol).
I really really love this mod, and all the work and love you guys put into always give me inspiration and motivation for life:
Like "hey, this is what people can do to realize their dreams and make a project together. Even without millions of money or screwing/copying somebody else's hard work!".
Thank you for allowing me to play your mod and have a wonderful time in the world of Pendor that you have created.
........................................................
Ok, since everyone's suggesting, I wanna add my ketchup too! (while waiting for my laptop to cool down, so I can continue playing PoP -__- damn laptops)

1st of all, I will try to focus on "economic" ideas, meaning they are in a "sure, if you have time you can do more, but nobody needs to tell you that, right?"-manner.

1) VICTORY CONDITIONS: Extended mainline quest / split-up mainline quest
I hate to mention Fire & Sword, because I really hated that mod, but the idea of a basic questline was not so bad.
It was supersimple (too simple to pay extra) and should be rather easy to implement, but just having a few more goals to clear will motivate even through "boring/grinding/waiting" times.

In other words, ok: Gaining good relations with Noldor (+ defeat jatu invaders), only faction left, no invader armies left ----> Nice. b..u...t (very humbly)
Aren't there some goals in-between or afterwards that can be added?

Like:
### Gain VERY good relations, 100, with Noldor (because at 70-80 you already get sth else, right?)
---> reward: shop discount/weekly merchant renewal/better noldor items (at least normal, not cracked and chipped only)
### Defeat the Dread Legion 1st time (and maybe recover an item stolen my Maltise)
### Collect and offer 1 Qualis gem...why? hmm....maybe sanctify an Astraean temple or restore some power to her.
### Become Grandmaster of existing Knighthood Order
### Holy avenger quest (or maybe holy armor?): Devote rune weapon to Astraea --> req to becoming sovereign - (1 more upgrade/extra requirement for getting upgraded rune wpn)
how? hmm.....:
a) collect 200.000 denar/
b) OR get word of friendship from honorable men (dialogue with 5 honorable lords and relations 50+)
c) OR create knight order of Pendor (thus new dedicated to Astraea)
d) OR build 1 grand temple of Astraea (one-time town improvement)
........
OR all of the above, hehe.
_____________
### Restore KoD Knights of Dawn: (failure at some step below means you have to start all over again...after a long quest cooldown)
a) prevent village burning (KoD spawn, raiding a village) and rescue some surviving children
b) find food for children, then escort children party to relatives (at a faaar town)
c) attract KoD burning party by doing 10 village quests, then capture KoD burning party leader ---> info about how to lure grandmaster
c) capture current KoD chapter house (Valonbray, usually)
d) defeat current grandmaster (army spawn)
.....
hmm, nice idea I think...of course it's difficult to mesh with Sir Alistair...but then, he doesn't seem to care about everything else that's happening, right?
______________
### Collect artifacts devoted to Astraea:
-Recover item/rescue someone from a Snake Cult Dungeon (just a new "bandit" map, of course a castle map would be even cooler;with snake cult enemies - more difficult than normal SC shrine, Cobra Warriors/Anaconda Knights)
-capture certain town/castle
-defeat Knights of Eventide war party spawn
-defeat Knights of Dawn war party spawn
-win tournament (maybe with only Adventurers & Hero Adventurers as participants)
-search and defeat ALL bandit camps, item found in last camp
.......................................
well, just a few of the above extra victory conditions/quests will make the game a lot more fun I think.
____________________________________________________________________________
2) SOME MORE NOLDOR QUESTS
-because getting relations 15 is rather easy.
-because, starting middlegame to endgame, the noldor are almost obsolete (you can't even kite them  into others anymore).

### Rescue Noldor Maiden Quest: defeat 1 random lord who has gotten his hands on one, then take weakened noldor maiden back home (sound similar?)
--> reward: noldor relation, honor, denar / 1-2 noldor maiden rangers
### Stop Noldor slave trade:  find/follow a buyer/slaver in a random town to meeting with slave traders/buyers and capture them to get info (sound similar II?)
--> reward: noldor relation, honor, denar / 1-2 noldor warriors

### Stop Ramun's business (ok, this is just my own request):
a) gain info on the big illegal auction: 3rd time you clear red brotherhood hideout
b) get entry to Ramun's slave auction: either capture noldor/ capture 10.000 denar worth prisoners/ gain favor 50+ with dishonorable lord
b) KILL RAMUN in battle, or in a dungeon/castle map with auctioneers

### Ithilrandir Quests:
a) capture rampant human-slaughtering noldor extremist group
b) defeat Ebony Gauntlet war party

### Aeldarian Quests:
a) sack a town/castle for him
b) defeat another jatu army
.............................................................................
Ok ok...I'm no coder. In theory, most of the suggestions seem easy enough to do, since the quests they're based on are already there...

3) about Bodyguards/Town Escorts
Right...we all hate the ambushes, and yes, we all agree that at some point it's unrealistic the big lord or sovereign just walks around alone at night.
We also know that there is the bodyguard submod, and yes it's not bad.

An easier solution might be: Allow the stashing of cash in a fief (town, castle or village manor). Then it's everyone's own responsibility.
Also, it's not entirely unthinkable, that an ambush party manages to lure the player's friends & soldiers away for a minute.
That the player would be running around with 250.000 denars cash to steal though is NOT realistic.
...........
__________________________________________________________________________________________
4) General Comments: Selfish improvement requests & questions - all random
Ok, I have read a lot, and I know almost all rumors by heart...but I don't know all lore I admit. So pls excuse some noobishness on my side.
And I have NOT read ALL comments and questions...So if a question/issue has already been answered, pls bear with me.

### Why is Lethaldiran, a "notorious Noldor assassin", who bested and killed other young Noldor nobles in sparring, lvl 45 and weaker than any Noldor warrior or Ranger? Suppose he EVER manages to reach level 50-55, he is still worse. In fact, other companions will all catch up and surpass him before reaching lvl 40?

### Boadice is a little weak. Why is she weaker than Roland, Jocelyn or Alistair? I understand if she's not as good in combat...but she was a queen! Her leadership + tactics should be above theirs! (Not to mention, that Veccavian Knights ARE already weaker than normal Knight Order troops...which I don't like as well).

### Alyssa is unbalanced...Why Power Throw 8, but Power Strike 0 ? It's like she's nowhere like the usual serpent priestesses. She doesn't have to be as strong, but I don't understand the skill division.

### Snake Cult presence is too little. I mean, if there wasn't all this talk about Azi Dahaka, I wouldn't even know she is the main antagonist in Pop 3. Just judging by number of Spawns and the danger & power of invasion armies, I thought Heretics/Erida Occisor was the main enemy.
Also, maybe in order to explain Alyssa, there should be "high priestess" and just "priestess" around, so there is a step in-between.
I also opt for higher spawn rate and maybe 1 more "mediocre" snake cult spawn...maybe 300-400 guys around, with more priestesses and a few high priestesses. OR, 1-2 snake cult heroes (like chief priestess or Anaconda General), besides Maltise.
In fact, I wouldn't even mind if the Snake cult is able to hold 1-2 towns, or even more if left unchecked. Like an invasion countdown, that increases if you don't progress along your mainline quest.

It might also be interesting to have some lords join the snake cult. Those who have been exiled by ALL factions and "leave Pendor" (was that enabled? don't remember).

### Gameplay issue: troops don't listen!
Is it just my laptop now or just me??: Whenever battle starts, my troops aren't listening to my orders right away. In fact, I always spent 20-30 seconds just re-issuing all orders to all troops again and again...which is not only annoying, but also quite dangerous vs armies that attack right away (like Jatu).

### Noldor Equipment for everyone!
Ok, I get it. Balance. But yet, after 500-600 days I'm still hunting for good noldor equipment (haven't opened Quigfen's yet) from either battles or Elacrai. After having killed & captured hundreds of Rogue Knights and Doomguides, I'm not getting any (even with loot 5 and just 12 companions vs bandit parties).
This I understand. BUT why are there hundreds of Rogue Knights, etc... running around with good noldor equipment, while me with relations 100 with Noldor and being able to visit Elacrai am still just getting bad offers of "cracked and chipped stuff"?

Conclusion: There must be a way to upgrade Elacrai's shop (like in one of my suggested Noldor quests).

### Forcing villagers & militia/enemy lords to give up prisoners
There should be a way to force enemy villagers & militia or enemy lords to give up their prisoners...without having to attack them.
Come on...I have 300 troops vs 10 villagers + 57 prisoners, and I can't get them? Even enemy lords, badly outnumbered...there should be away to pressure them (in exchange for NOT attacking them; similar to Merchant caravans money extortion)

### Quest list from towns
This might be hard to code, I dunno: But it'd be nice to have a small choice of quests available, instead of just THE ONE, that's 50% not even appropriate.

### Noldor flute
Now, is there a noldor flute I can get? Where is it? I wanna hear those unearthly tunes! In any case, it'd be nice to have a few magic items leftovers of Pendor around, except just supernuclear noldor rune weapons.
Maybe a healing flute, or a persuasion stone (auto success), repairing fluid (that makes a cracked/chipped item --> normal), magic boots (that add athletics), etc.

### In-between battles extra window
Between battles/sieges (I mean in the breaks you have in superlarge battles), there should be an extra choice to change equipment.
WHY:
a) I often forget to change my equipment before battles, and it's annoying to ALWAYS having to switch back in chest.
b) My horse gets crippled...I have 9 healthy horses in my inventory, so why can't I just switch to a new one?
This should be more doable then just changing full-plate in the middle of combat or picking up a lance on the ground from up the horse.
c) Because nobody charges into the castle's walls with just a bow and 120 arrows.

### Custom Knight Order
Awesame...just awesome that you guys did this. This is really beyond expectations!
Now, if there were some extra reqs to get some equipment (like defeating Maltise for snake cult stuff, good Noldor relations/defeat noldor lord for noldor stuff),
so this should also apply to:
-faction stuff
-knight order stuff

Ok, I'm sure you know this, and there may be reason you haven't done this already....but joining your own Knight Order is impossible, a pity.
Of course, balancing out with existing knight orders is important as well...or else nobody will want to join any of the existing ones, right?

Oh, before I forget...it'd be nice to be able to choose the gender of the order, instead of relying on the faction (or the sex switching around, because I change faction).

### Female voice battle commands (ok, not so important)
In any case, thought I'd mention it.

### Female friendship (general warband request)
Female player avatars should still be able to become friends with ladies and gain access to SOME quests and features. But I guess this is a small request that needs too much coding efforts.

### Player marrying female companion
Is this possible in PoP? Sorry for this question, but I couldn't find a definite answer.

### Claimants
Is there a way NOT to have them disappear? If their faction has been defeated, it would be cool to have them still around, so I could offer them a fief.
Maybe some claimant (after their faction has been defeated) quests as req for them to become lords.

### Sheik Shalavan joining Kadan Bahadur Khan
Errh...shouldn't this be logically impossible? Haha, ok, small issue, no bother.

### Ok, some gods have given me warnings, what now?
What does actually happen if I continue attacking "his subjects"? I never noticed anything different.
What happens if Astraea says: Fight for justice and I will help you where I can?

### King Ulric founding Chapter of the Falcon
Ok...another very weird thing that once happened...

### Foreign embassies as fief improvements
Might be a cool extra choice for buildling; improving relations with them, and maybe hiring some of their troops. If you feel like it, why not add some quests too (from a representative in the lord's hall, or Inn)?

### capture prisoners quest
Is this hard to change? The player should be able to exchange higher tier or same, than the ones requested, as well. Sometimes it's just too freakin' difficult to find AND ko exactly those troops....especially with the current range of troops around.
I mean, I have never NEVER NEVER EVER managed to capture e.g. 5-7 assassins or blademasters. Assassins might even be possible, if outrageously so, but blademasters....hell, it's my 3rd playthrough and I have never seen a total 5 of them in any army.

Oh of course....TRAINING 5-7 assassins or blademasters....bite me, fat idiot pendorian lord!

### Ravenstern & D'Shar too weak?
In most of my games (8 out of 10 games), either Ravenstern or D'Shar gets obliterated the 1st...without me doing anything. Sometimes they survive, because I fight Fierdsvain or Sarleon or Empire and help them out...but if I look away for a few months they're...gone.

My theory on this:
a) Poinsbruck gets swarmed with Mystmountain Armies AND Jatu Armies, who spawn a LOT and love to stick around that corner.
For the same reason, the stronger R_Counts are always in battle with them, and usually are not around to help the rest of the realm.
b) D'Shar bandit camp placement is too close, and too less castles nearby, meaning Lords don't help each other out often. Weaker or weakened D'shar lords are always in fights with the fast bandits, who also mob up.
c) Fierdsvain doesn't get any "bad" spawns...heretic armies spawn in the middle of Fierdsvain and Sarleon, or right in front of Avendor. Vanskerry army spawns are waaaay too little (I see them really really rarely). Also, Mettenheim/Barclay/Veccavia & KoD army spawns are all at peace with Fierdsvain lords, but attack any bandits.
d) Sarleon and Empire seem pretty balanced. Sometimes they do well, sometimes they don't....but they never disintegrate before Ravenstern or D'Shar.
Snake Cult spawns near Cez, which is at the corner...Noldor harass Laria and close to Ethos, but that's far away from the action.
e) and yes, Fierdsvain is practically always very strong. Even when they become weak because of war with 2-3 factions...they recover pretty well and take towns back.
f) unique mercenary spawns....D'shar usually survive some time if they get Syla Uzas/Sheik Shalavan early, the opposite is true if Marius gets them. Ravenstern doesn't get any decisive merc spawns (usually Freibruder, Griffon Company, Kodan Ironsword).
Ulric of Sarleon and Koningur Valdis are well balanced, I think.

### Fief income
It's too low...just too low. I have started playing some female char, so I could give the towns to a husband...else it's just impossible to pay.
Even with most fief improvements and a wealthy town, and only a limited garrison of 300-400 (contrary to faction towns that usually boast 700-900, including 200+ high tier troops), the costs are higher then what I earn. That's just not funny.
And if there's a 2nd town or more...tax inefficiency kills you.

There must be more income bonuses from fief improvements, or more income/possible investments from land you buy. I'm sitting around with 400k denars, but I cannot invest anywhere anymore...and seeing -20.000 denars every week just hurts my belly.

I get that you don't own 12+ fiefs, and you give much away...but just 3 fiefs is borderline.
I mean, don't forget the irony: Merc contracts earn you more than being lord of a town? Come on!

Thanks for reading, thanks for your time, and 1000x thanks for making PoP!!
Oh lord, look at the time...nighty night guys!

Just for the lulz - I was made curious by the comment on carrying around 250k denarii in your pocket.

The common gold and silver coins used for actual currency instead of investment weigh - according to wikipedia - around 4-8 grams for gold currency, and around 4-5 grams for silver.

So you carry a bit over 1 000 kg in your purse.

Just pray you´ve got reinforced suspenders on and a collarbone of steel.

Haha, and don't forget to add the bulk of full plate, full helmet, 2 steel shields, 8 throwing spears and a longsword!

Excellent Mod! I have a few suggestions for your review, I didn't review the 50+ pages to see if any were brought up before.

1) make the lower ranks of the knight orders able to be upgraded to full knights. either by normal experience gaining or by a quest / option through the knight representative to review your troops for potential upgrade. maybe like the one where you get all order troops to gain renown. but this version you get just lower ones and have to beat so many enemies. then return and they get judged on their performance and have a chance to get upgraded.

2) quests from order stronghold to upgrade the order troops equipment.
maybe something like - maybe defeat enemies that have better equipment for a chance drop of plans to upgrade.

3) a stronghold weaponsmith that can upgrade your weapons the same as the armor one. As well as quests to upgrade order equipment further.

4) Send a companion on a scouting mission, where when they return they provide current locations of unique spawns. based off tracking and spotting skill.

5) Knight Chapter Houses where you will find grandmaster, chaplain etc of that order.

6) quests to upgrade equipment of orders you bring back to pendor through chapter house.

7) maybe a quest line to build chapter house / HQ for orders you revive or create.

 quests to resolve dispute between orders. so they are no longer enemies.

9) random kingdom leaders. i.e. 50/50 chance in each game per faction that normal leader or pretender will be leader of said faction.

10) more rune weapon types from mines etc. doom maces, lances, etc...

11) sort troops in garrison and party by level. I saw another mod was able to do this once every 24hrs and thought it would be great addition.

12) ability to create your own stronghold / basecamp.

13) Pretenders will spawn with an Army, similiar to the unique spawns. but with faction troops and in the kingdom they want.

14) improved loot system, that allows us to choose weapon types. i.e. 1 hand blunt, 1 hand slash, etc...

some of these may not be easy to do or fit your vision... but hopefully some do.

Is there a plan for some new banners in the upcoming versions...have those ever gotten any love from the devs ?
Also would it be possible to add (again in future versions) Heraldic Horses. What i mean is ofcours horses tha have heraldry in them like their owner.
I don`t know of many cases in Pendor but i think Konigur Valdis`s own huscarls have horses with his sigil and they look very cool

Great mod, played thru to the end a dozen or so times since the early versions and it's ace , one thing I really enjoyed was when I used an editor to make all recruitable NPC's lvl1 and equipped suitable to that level armour/weapons, the whole development of them was way more fun and the game was also harder, maybe add it in as an option somewhere to have 'no high lvl' companions'.

Cheers, and again, great work!

Would be cool if you could join the "Three Seers" army....an army full of hot women?
I've had a dream about a Doomguide... xDD

Snake Cult + Azi Dahaka
Now, seriously, I miss the presence of the Snake Cult, and I posted my suggestions before...

Something else, it would be nice if Azi Dahaka would also...well...talk. Threats or insults or whatever. Just feels like all other gods (even minor ones with barely any importance...e.g. Vanskerry Haf Sigla) talk.

A series of story-based events, similar to the grandmaster quest, would be really cool. It doesn't have to be epic or complicated, just enough to give a feel of accomplishment or progress during the loooong looong main quest.

Improved Endgame
This may be just me...but being a king is boring. Currently my char is Queen, and ever since the coronation it's been an anti-climax.
My own lords don't give me any quests anymore...and there's nothing new.

The heartbeat quests, new fief improvements, Order Quests + CKO are supernice, but they're "middle-game" stuff....now that I'm queen I find myself with nothing to do, except just roll all over Pendor.

*No new quests...
*bandit lairs get too easy
*normal tournaments get too easy
*noldor tournament is mostly luck
*CKO has been in the works and upgrading since mid-game
*fief-relations & improvements already maxed out
*ambush bandits are just plain annoying
*Main troubles, that are not even fun to deal with: Garrison & tax inefficiency costs, waiting & searching for invading armies (maybe info from travelers),
more ways to improve lord's relationships as sovereign

Anyone who disagrees with any of the above?

Note: I know PoP isn't an endless game, at some point you're expected to roll all over Pendor, but that's the phase I consider the "final", which comes AFTER a cool "endgame" phase.

Some visual recommendations for current troops or perhaps new ones by using various OSP resources.

Sarleon Halberdier:

The Maidens:

Lore wise i was thinking they could be the remnants of a Secret Female Knightly Order from the former unified Kingdom of Pendor. Since they are escorting caravans their role in the old Kingdom was to protect civilians and the Queen. Also if the player is a female character and creates a Kingdom she can resurrect the Order.

Maiden Cavalry:

Maiden Adventurer:

Maiden Noble (this not OSP, but a retextured armor of the maiden cavalry armor)

The Halberdier and Maiden noble one doesn't fit. The Halberdier one is way to knightly for them, and the maiden noble is a male armor and way to thick for them. The rest are nice, I like the halberdier armor it's just to expensive for them.

The plate armor on the females is fine. Plate armor isn't supposed to be form fitting, especially as they would be wearing padding underneath the armor as well.

No, I don't get "your point"... What's the suggestion?

Is this your idea of a PoP 4.0?

This looks like your own original mod...for MBII which isn't even out yet. If so:
-Why are you posting it on the suggestion thread for PoP? --> Make your own thread on MODS, then you can ask the moderators here if it's ok to make a little advertisement.
-A LOT of your ideas seem to be copied from PoP...if you had original similar ideas, then explain the differences, if you WERE inspired by PoP, it's even more a reason not being rude by posting a giant ad for your own mod IN THE POP THREAD.

What do you want? What do you want people to do about your post?

Haha, ok, I wasn't venting. That's why I said "If so:..."

I understand you're a writer, and with heart as well.

As far as I understand, there already are plans for a PoP 4.0, currently put indefinite hold due to MB II coming out in an unknown shape.
..........
I am in a pretty similar position as you....I know squat about 10110111, but I definitely have the interest in making a mod/game. So my current strategy is to work on a game design on my own, and once finished look for a coder and graphic designers to work with.

Things that only you can do: Create a world with story, history, places and personalities; work out gameplay mechanics, balance them out, have numeric tables around, troop/unit trees and etc....
..............
Pop is quite fun, so sometimes I don't know whether I should thank the gods I can play it in my free time, or curse them because Pop distracts me so much from my own project!

In any case, if you're as enthusiastic as you seem (judging from your lengthy post), I say you can try to make a mod team yourself for MB II. Learning some basic coding for a MOD shouldn't be too hard, and some basic knowledge is important so you know the limits, do's and don'ts of design.
.......
So basically I seem to have exuded a harsher tone than intended... I was just really confused about what you're trying to do.

I'm doing a claimant quest for 3.611 and maybe its because of how diplomacy mod has spoiled me, but the way handing out fiefs are handled when conquering cities and castles is really outdated, using M&Bs original way of handing out the associated villages to whomever owns the walled fief. I'd like to see in the next version, and because of how simple this tweak would be I'm also doing it myself to my own game, the dialogue option when you've just taken a walled fief to ask the pretender to keep the fief unassigned, so as to attract landless lords. Similarly, when you hand out a walled fief with the after-action dialogue with the claimant, that only the walled fief itself is given out instead of also giving out the dependent villages. Right now the claimant I'm helping owns 6 cities, 12 castles, and 24 villages because I only managed to persuade 3 lords and went the heavy-handed route towards conquering the original faction, and had to give conquered fiefs to someone.

Also, I wonder if it would be too much to ask for an alternate scenario in dealing with the Noldor, complete annihilation. I know that they enjoy a position of favor among the(, or "a",) developer(s) of this mod, and that this would contradict the lore, but I'm one of those people who don't believe in fate, and by extension, prophecy. Why give the player the option to join an explicitly anti-noldor knighthood order, that won't even return without the player volunteering a precious qualis gem, without letting them take it to the logical conclusion?

Along similar lines, I'd like to see a bit more interaction between the player and the so-called "evil" factions. I went out of my way to ally with the bandit/vanskerry faction, forest bandits, mountain bandits, mystmountain tribes, red brotherhood, and later rogue knights, and didn't get so much as different dialogue lines when speaking to their units on the map.

This is a common complaint with PoP, that it doesn't allow for bandit warlord play by design. The most you can do is to keep good relations with hostile factions (apart from Snakes and Heretics), and be able to hire mercenary parties from initially hostile factions.

The way the game is setup as it stands makes it very clear what path the devs have intended for the player to take. Strong emphasis on "honourable" knighthood orders and increased penalties for raiding villages+caravans make it clear that the various outlaw factions exist only to oppose the player on his "righteous" quest to reunite Pendor, a quest that can leave hundreds of thousands dead and countless homes razed and destroyed with, if the devs would have their way, the player becoming a proxy regent for the Noldor who indirectly assume the position of benevolent overlords. Naturally, since the Noldor are virtually superior to dirty, smelly, ignorant humans in almost every way. Even though they don't really have pointy ears and thus, if it weren't for their gaudy polycolor dresses, be indistinguishable from a human with OP gear.

Anyways, I finally achieved victory for my rebellion and now have to deal with the dilemma of 20+ landless lords because all the lands I conquered went to the claimant. In hindsight, I might have been able to work around this by giving all those lands to myself, and when the rebellion was over ask to be released from my oaths and giving up all that land, which will then be considered "unowned" to be handed out to all the lords whose land was forcefully taken from them. I ended up getting 7k renown and 20k into debt by the end of the rebellion, and managed to rack up around 100 controversy.
