I N T R O D U C T I O N
Welcome to the 26th Regiment of Foot! The regiment will be participating in linebattles, sieges and other events from 19th of April and on. The regiment was created with the objective and goal to have a nice regiment and community, with players that enjoy the DLC "Mount & Blade Warband: Napoleonic Wars" and have fun together
H I S T O R Y
The 26th (Cameronian) regiment of foot was a Scottish infantry regiment, with the name taken from its first colonel. In May 1801, the regiment was ordered to reinforce the British army in Egypt. In July the same year, the regiment disembarked in Egypt. The campaign in Egypt would only last for a few more months. In September, the Siege of Alexandria took place, at which the 26th Regiment fought. The next month, the Egyptian campaign was over, and the regiment as well as many other British regiments were able to sail home. Shortly after the returning of the regiment, a treaty with France was signed, ending the war. The regiment was granted permission to carry the battle honor "Egypt" on its colors.
In May 1803, war broke out again. Peace in Europe would seem farther and farther away as the years passed. As the peninsular war began in Spain, the first battalion of the regiment was sent there, where it fought in the Battle of Corunna. After the success in Spain, the battalion was sent to the Walcheren Campaign in Holland, which resulted in a defeat for the British. The first battalion was shipped back to Gibraltar, taking up garrison duties until the end of the war...
