SP Native Fantasy Calradia the first Crusade

Short Description: This is a Mod that will expand on Warband and Bismarck's open source mod.  It will add lots of new items, factions and many other combined mods.  The main theme of this mod will center around Crusades in Calradia, the factions will have their own religion based on real ones.

Credits: its a long list so it will take a while.


Longer Description:

New Factions  

Britannia: (major) Based on England it will control 2 major Islands and a few smaller ones.  It will only have 10 lords vs 20 of other factions but they will be balanced.

Eastern Dynasty: (name pending) (major) Based on the Asian cultures mostly Japanese though.  They will bring gunpowder into the mix, along with other new weapons and armor.  They come from the East looking to expand their territory and quince their blood lust by destroying the Khergit for its past grievances.  Note: Gun powder tech will be weak.

Bzintines: (minor) based on the Byzantines, they will have a host of powerful units.  However they will be balanced, since it will only have 4-5 Vassals and the player wont be able to recruit its units except a few mercenaries.  This Faction is what is left of the old Empire (in my version anyway). 

Romamoa States: (name pending) (minor) Will be controlled by the Arch Bishop Romanus, sorta like the pope in the Medieval times.  He will have a deep hatred for all factions but Swadian, Rhodoks and Britannia (Nords and Bzintines will be neutral) because of their Religions.  He will give out missions to the player (often making the other factions hate you) and give you rewards like new Champion steeds, armor or weapons other wise not available in the game.  I also hope to make it were the bishop will urge the 3 Factions to combine their strength and take out the other factions.  The other Factions will be able to counter this by either Jihad (Sarranid), Mass Hordes (Khergit) Warband (Nords) Raise to arms (Vaegirs) not sure how I would implement it but basically those factions would receive additional Vassals until they are killed off or the war ends.

Other Thoughts: Another idea was if you conquered the Arch Bishop you could make him a puppet, which would give you control over the other factions, not sure how to implement this one either though. 

Order of the Golden Knights: (minor) Based on Knights Templar, they wear brilliant golden armor and protect the Arch Bishop, Churches and its Pilgrims.  Behind their cause they have grown too large for their own good, now they need riches and territory to secure their ambitions.

Orders in its command/ranks:
Order of Trint: From Britannia's Chapter house.
Order of Militia: (name pending) From Rhodoks Chapter house, made up of Militia units to serve as the backbone in the Order of the Golden Knights.
Order of the Griffin: Swadian Chapterhouse

Dessert Nomads: The Desserts below the Sarranids seemed empty.  A bunch of dessert tribes that come together to fight its enemies, each vassal is made up of a tribe leader, one voted as Grand Master and one voted to lead the warriors.  They will have old ruins and encampments.


Religions: working on that part, I don't want real Religions since this game isn't based on real history. 


Buildings and Structures
Many new cities, castles and villages. 

Ports: (I hope to make them conquerable).

Churches, Cathedrals other Religious Buildings: I also hope to make them conquerable and able to loot them.




Other stuff
Sea Travel/ Battles: already in, but problems with the ship scene, Shore battles work  though.

Hero Companions: already added 6 New heroes to the game from each Faction.

New Armors, weapons, shields, horses Etc:  I plan to make some of it, the rest will be from other mods if I get the permission to use them.

New Lands:
mostly just 2 large islands, a peninsula and a few small islands.

New units:
Going to expand the Factions units, mercenaries and bandits.

Rebels:
Another thing I'm not sure how to add, but I want to add rebels to the game.  These Rebels would pop up when a Faction takes a another Factions land and act sorta like kamikaze portals. They would also have a small chance to spawn a Hero General.

Escorted or Kings Caravans:
These would be the kings personal Caravans, they yield a lot of goods and you wont lose Honor, however they will be well guarded.

New goods:
probably for the Kings Caravans.

Missions:
I want to add new special missions for the factions as well.

Harder Economy: plans to make the Economy a little harder.  High end Plate armors/Armor plated steeds with be rare and expensive. How ever I wont have period specific armors, it will blend in other later period armors.


How can you help?

Novice Help
Testing: still a ways off but I will need testers, I have a few in line atm.
Re-texturing: atm I'm doing all of that, but I Could always use help to speed things along.  I'm Re-texturing most warband items so they match a lot of the new items, I'm also adding in some for variation in same armors.
Dialogs: I may consider more Heros if some one is willing to do the dialogs.... its just to repetitive for me.
Map:any one with a decent working map edtior, Thorgrims doesnt work to well for me.
Religion: Currently I need ideas for names and idology.

Advanced Help
Scripting: I know very little so any one with even a modest amount of scripting is a big help.
Making 3d modeler: I can't expect to get one, but it can't hurt asking :razz:.

Below is a little project I'm working on, it gives bucklers to archers and .. if I get it right 2 Handed sword wielders will be able to fend off arrows.  I have to add that Archers have been some of my Favorite units and I always loved Archers that had bucklers... they just look bad @ss!

Thanks everyone.  I admit I've never seen Crossbowmen with bucklers but the option is there...


@CounterPoint391  Your correct sir, however that is the old system. I made the shield static on the Gloves and then made a invisible shield so it could be use for combat.  I recently made the 2 separate and the shield can even be used to block while using a bow...the down side is both ways have flaws.

@Tiberius Decimus Maximus their there just hard to see its part of the OSP more horses pack... I plan to redo the texture one day.  Donkeys and Mules will be part of the caravans lol  :grin:

And for method two of getting a bow with shield, I assume you just removed the '2handed' flag from the bow? What sort of issues does it have?
 
Very perceptive, but it makes me feel as though I haven't accomplished much  :sad: .  looking for a moding job? lol.   

Well the first conflicts with shields and the 2nd conflicts with bows, meaning I'd have to tamper with each and every shield...something I'm not going to do also it would be ridiculous using a pavise with a bow.  I need a way to limit the types of shields used while the bow is equipped.

Some Sarranid action.  I feel sorry for any one with a bad connection venturing into this thread with all the Screen shots.

It's all good. I started out doing the same kinds of things. Although I never actually tried what you did, so thanks for testing it for me :razz: I think method two is still the best as you can limit the shields of the Archer troops to smaller ones. If the player decides to use a pavise with a bow, well that's on them. I wouldn't play that way or equip my companions that way...and I'm sure many players have the same sorts of feelings. I understand that you want to prevent ridiculous things from happening, but speaking from personal experience, people (me) play with some self imposed restrictions for RP purposes, or just becase it helps with the immersiveness of the game. So, drive on. Also, Talak's Unique Armory OSP had a nice buckler in it......
 
Not to mention aiming with anything much bigger than a buckler is pretty much impossible since it completely covers your target.
 
Same here, a hour or 2 into the game and I have more then enough to get plate armor but I don't.  I only wear what I loot, exception of weapons cause a lot of them are rare (which I like).  Actually this is another Field I'm trying to focus on in my mod higher end armors/weapons will be harder to get and cost more, adds to the end game play imo.
