Statement regarding Singleplayer IV

Kinda, but this is my assumption based on Warband, not something they talked about.

They said that they would "perhaps implement it as a DLC" in an interview way before even the early access release. I would guess that if they did, they would indeed add naval combat and transport as a dlc.

I have no idea, but I hope so.
I feel like boats are such an underrated aspect . Imagine boat caravans in bannerlord like the world would feel so alive , naval combat is fun too but I’m more focused on boats for transportation cause that’s very possible to add without having to change a lot.

Adding obtainable Minor clan troops would be more like a tweak cause that feature should already be in the game , mercenaries are loyal to whoever has coin .

@Duh_TaleWorlds

I don't know if this is your area of expertise, but i'd strongly suggest you guys look at AI behavior.

Like right after one war finishes, they most of time jump on another. Strategically thinking would be nice for AI since that's not smart at all.

I also belive peace time for AI should be longer, player negotiable. Anyway, just a thought after playing for few hours. I just think would be nice they AI thinking more smartly and strategically, like. After a war you need time to recover your losses and/or time to consolidate your gains

Literally going to war after war is not sustainable

I think we all could agree there needs to be at least slightly longer periods of peace.

The simplest way would be to make the AI not start new war declaration votes for a little while after the conclusion of a war.

The player could still call a war vote (and the AI would vote as normal), and other factions could still declare on your faction, but it would rein in a faction making war after war and give the player a brief break to regroup their forces and manage their fiefs.

Also it would feel more realistic than the constant merry-go-round of death and destruction when in real life some kingdoms could go numerous years without being at war.

As usual, Warband is a good example of how war/peace pacing could be more fun.

Do u think we should have the ability to make allies ?

I think it's something that would be nice to have, but it's probably too complex for TW to implement into their already overcomplicated war/peace calculations and battle system.

As long as tribute is fixed, peace duration is fixed, and voting is fixed, I'll be happy with diplomacy. Making zombie kingdoms die off was an enormous step in the right direction.

Can Factions still declare war while in peace ? if so then that’s absolutely broken and needs to be fixed asap. While I peace we should have a cool down of 1 year

Better to increase player agency by giving the option to make a more generous settlement with your enemy to guarantee a minimum truce period. That way you can choose to let it roll and save money or pay for a breather.

A year’s far too long. That just makes the game too easy. A player can start a war whenever as a ruler (influence cost) or a vassal (just sack a peaceful village and your liege declares war on their faction rather than slapping your wrists). The AI’s stupid enough, no need to handcuff it’s ability to dog-pile the player.

@Duh_TaleWorlds what do u think about this idea, letting us actually go into the village and raid . Instead of letting us just fight the militia we should be able to load up into the town and kill live stock , villagers and the militia. it would make for a more fun experience especially if your playing as a raider, Then after your done doing that we can start pillaging the town the same we way we do now by having that loading screen where we collect resources . Could be like the sally out mission if ur in the village.

I suppose they could add the village peasants running around the village in fear. like and auto moral failed army. The militia attacks as normal. that would be more realistic.

when u go to click the raid option you would get text prompting that all the villagers either went inside the villagers homes and protecting the live stock and or if there’s enough, they will defend themselves like groups like the militia and actually attack the player but if there’s less than 60 militia, they will try and all runaway to the nearest bound castle/village or during the raid they could be saved if they make it to the out of bounds line and the peasants would be only wounded not killed so it doesn’t effect the game’s economy. That’s just my idea but I feel like y’all are way smarter then me and can come up with a better idea !

Where’s the challenge murdering villagers and chasing livestock?
There's no challenge that's why is a Brutal act and that's why i would have them as broken unit. As you charge around the village a peasant is fleeing and crosses you path and whack. This would push you character more towards the hated and feared.

That's why the player will also get something that will prevent abuse, during peace time. A longer time of peace give fighting chance for factions

Personally, I don't think rating agencies are a fan of killing civilians / people that don't fight back.

Beyond that, if the idea is to loot and destroy the village during the mission, I presume it would also be a matter of overhauling the campaign map interaction - since you are also destroying and looting the village during that phase.

While I think this could be fun every now and then, I wouldn't want to be forced to do it as a player. Overall, I think there are other changes that have more impact for equal or less cost.

You want sell copies . That's fair

I dont see how this feature would add anything to the game. You would do it once or twice maybe and then never again (assuming you want to do it at all); there is no challenge. If the goal is to make it easier to gain negative traits there are other/better ways to do it.

I would prefer if developing time was spent on something meaningfull

look at my thread. It’s a more in depth discussion. U don’t actually kill the villagers . They get knocked so it doesn’t effect the economy or village hearth or the replay value as u can do it every month but the option to enter will be unavailable till the raided village is done burning , it’s the exact same concept as loading and gaining resources . Villagers always have the option to run away to the hearth bound village/town. if rating is an issue then u can add the option of adding pitch forks and low tier items . It would be the exact same situation as fighting the militia and the same mission as the “Sally out” option or if u don’t like the idea then U can make it so that u can only destroy town hall or have the villagers retreat to a town hall so it would be like the mission where when u take a castle or town the solider will fight in the keep.
