General information

Medieval Realms is a Mount & Blade: Warband Modification based on Persistent World 4.5.
It adds several new features like a Storage Crate system, a Day & Night System, a Weather System, Winter/Summer Effects, New Items/Armors/Weapons, New Textures and a lot of more.
Also, this modification is focusing the role play sense. It adds playable instruments, new gestures/animations and other stuff to support the role play.
Every server can host its own scripts, the backend and the whole module system is open source. People can improve & change on their own.
The server side scripts contain extended logging, gear loading/saving, an Anti-Combatlog system and much more.

GoTRP is still alive. But most player left, that's true and I know why. I made a huge mistake with the "only developers can host server" method & I didn't really have time to manage the server to be honest. Also I think the genere and the bigness, WSE and only 64-bit things on GoTRP did limit it really hard.

I just hope this is better, as it's easier, smaller, compacter and everyone can host a server.



Update: Added storage crate system from GoTRP
One storage chest contains four resources. You can pack four resources into one, or destroy a crate, to gather four resources. It's good for travelling or selling.
 
Hey,

we've made a lot of progress in the past days. We created our forums (medieval-realms.net) and did work on the module.

Animations
We have implanted some new animations with which you can play music instruments, eat/drink, sleep or sit down on a chair or ground.
With this feature we can improve the role play due to people can really show what they are doing.

Sounds
We implanted new sounds like fighting clash sounds, foot step sounds, water splash and door sounds.
With this feature we improve the general game play and support the feeling of being in a realistic world.

Weather System
The weather system was completely finished by now. We worked days on improving and extenting it.
It's now at it's perfect stadium which you can see in this video:

Ship Build System
With this system people can check how much HP a ship still has and they can re-build it if the ship sunk.
No admins needed anymore to sail!

General Improvement
We re-written parts of the PW original scripts to improve performance, stability & FPS.

Music
We've added a couple of new music tracks to the module.

New items

We've added a new armor set called "Holy Plate" which consists of a helmet, a body armor and a horse.
We also added the battle horn.

We still want to add more items, more scripts & stuff like that, but for that we need YOU!

The module is not released yet, it is still work in progress.

after some time we are back with some new news.

New Admin Functions
- Teleport a player to the admins position
- Change hour/fog and weather/wind (needs Panel Admin Permission)
- Prepare server for shutdown, e.g saves all factions & chests (needs Panel Admin Permission)

New Items (all beginning with "mr_")
- Heraldic Mail and Plate
- Milanese Plate Body Armor
- Kuyak Body Armor
- Litchina Head Armor
- Nikolskoe Head Armor
- Novogrod Head Armor

Changes on PW itself
- removed default spawning items
- adjusted max lenght & inventory count of item chests

New features
- Added 6 default PW maps (credits to Protato and others)
- House System (admin can give keys to following prop: mr_house_door)
-> Add keys/remove keys through PW Nameserver
-> House ID is variation ID 2 in editor
- Inventory system, GUI based (saves/loads and is synchron with the database)
-> Hold F1 to open it
-> Press a slot with having a wielded item to put it into a slot
-> Press a slot without having a item wielded to take it out of the slot
- HCRP System included
-> Chest saving/loading (only if HCRP is enabled)
-> choosed HCRP map (only if HCRP is enabled)
-> Faction saving/loading (only if HCRP is enabled)
-> if you got killed/knocked out you spawn at the same position and you won't drop loot (only if HCRP is enabled)
-> you only loose gear through character kills (only if HCRP is enabled)
-> you can character kill yourself by pressing escape and pressing "Do Character Kill" (only if HCRP is enabled)
-> Anti-Combatlog is disabled on HCRP mode (only if HCRP is enabled)
-> No outlaw rating (only if HCRP is enabled)
-> Added universal class (can do everything) (only if HCRP is enabled)
-> Each different character name is a own account linked to your GUID (only if HCRP is enabled)

Why did you add HCRP and who can use it?
HCRP is a other feature contained in Medieval Realms.
Only one server will be allowed to use HCRP scripts, the official Medieval Realms one.
Others can still host normal PW style Medieval Realms servers but the HCRP can only be hosted by us.
The official server will be called:
Medieval_Realms_HCRP
no one is allowed to call his server "Medieval_Realms" or "Medieval_Realms_Official" or equal states.
The unofficial servers, e.g not the official HCRP servers have to choose names which are not equal to Medieval Realms.
More information about the HCRP will follow.

We still search suggestions for the module,

So, we are back with some news!
We added a new scene prop called:
mr_animated_fog
which creates in an area of 5 meters moving fog.
We improved the house system for the HCRP mode.
We added a panel on which owners can manage keys to their doors (web panel and only HCRP).
We have choosen the map for HCRP.
We updated our website content for HCRP.
We have improved the day & night cycle, weather system and with moving sun/moon again. Here a video:



We improved some scripts to increase FPS.
We adjusted lightning / shadow re-building.
We added some new textures and sounds.
We added some new animations.
We did give our ModDB page a new layout.
We added the horse system for HCRP.

Medieval Realms is launched!

There will be directly one HCRP server online but no PW style server.
If you don't want to play on HCRP then you will have to wait until a normal PW style server (normal conquest) is hosted by someone. If you want to host a server, go ahead, download the Dedicated Server Files and follow the instructions. If you want scripts (gear saving) and so on then you have to write an Medieval Realms Application on our forums: Medieval-realms.net or you have to write Meijk Vandat on Steam: Steamcommunity.com, Scripts are free!

Only the developers, so the official Medieval Realms team can host the HCRP mode.
This version is open beta, so please report every bug you find.

I like the dynamic weather and day/night cycle, gives it a WoW feel.

Now if only warband had a PvP zone feature, would make RP a lot easier. Maybe in Bannerlord?
 
Here's a suggestion:
Disable all-chat, disable faction chat, and as a substitute, add 3D positional voice chat. It'll do wonders for roleplay!
If you're wondering how, you could use Mumble, which supports custom plugins, and write one in C++ using this guide: https://wiki.mumble.info/wiki/Pluginguide
This feature, if it could be implemented, would make everyone at least try your mod, I guarantee it. Most people would switch from regular PW to yours for a feature like this one. I know I would :smile:
 
People can disable global if they want, we won't force.
3D positional voice, lol no, but thanks for the suggestion.

Hey,

The patch contains:
- Adjusted weather effects/sun/moon effects/movement
- Fixed dons of bugs/glitches/exploits
- Fixed PW textures
- mr_beer_cask and mr_wine_cask
-> Put beer casks or wine barrels into these casks and you can get beer or wine cups out of it
- Added "mr_buy_battle_horn" scene prop
- Chest/Faction loading/saving is now available for all game types

What will come with the patch?:
A new official server. The HCRP will be temporaly disabled and shut down, instead for it we will launch a PW style orientated Medieval Realms server. This server will be called "MR_Official_Server" and will launch with the patch launch. Medieval-realms.net contains all needed information & rules. You are welcome to play! We will start with the map Lowlands, a fixed version.
