Mount&Blade: With Fire and Sword crashes.

Since I bought the game (over Steam) it has crashed after I've been playing 10-15 minutes.
About 80% of everytime it crashes the error is: "Mount & Blade: With fire and sword has stopped working".
The last 20% of the times it crashes the error is: Microsoft Visual C++ runtime error".
I Have no idea about what I have to do about this. I've been searching on the internet for weeks without any luck, and therefore decided to make a thread about it.

I've tried to re-install With fire and sword, but didn't seem to work.
If any of you can help me PLEASE REPLY!
Dunno why it saved so many times though.
 
Already tried both. I'm currently using Direct X7 because of it lagged so much with Direct X9.
And lowering the quality didn't make any diffrence.
And sorry if it was the wrong sub forum, this is my first thread, you know.
 
Nope, I don't have any mods.
But I think I've fixed it. I also had the same error with a few other games I've bought from Steam, and some of the error messages gave me an idea of what the issue could be.
I'll tell how I fixed the problem tomorrow. I'm tired, and it will take time to explain it.  :grin:
 
Do note that there isn't a single error in your rgl_log.txt file that you've posted (other than the continued saving if that is not something you did and you aren't playing on the 'realistic' save mode that autosaves frequently).

Have you tried installing the version from Taleworlds.com and playing that, rather than the Steam version?

Yes, but that didn't make any diffrence. And I still don't have any idea of what's wrong.
 
Great, now I've made the problem even worse. After re-installing WFaS on Steam, I couldn't even play the game, I could only play it in multiplayer.
When I try to load my single player world it crashes.
It's the same error: "Mount & Blade: With Fire and Sword has stopped working".
 
After deleting all the M&B folders, and installing it again over Steam, I managed to start a new game.
But it still crashes in Single player when I follow a rebel/bandit/lord/anything.
And it also crashes very often when I click the "Go to fortress" or "go to marketplace" or anything like that.
 
I'm just not certain that it's a game problem at this point, because obviously many more people would have ran into it. It seems specific to your computer setup.

Do you have issues with any other applications crashing? Perhaps you could try doing a check on your computer memory to make sure it's okay and not faulty. That could exhibit this behavior.

I do have this issue in a few other games, but when i click *Close window* the solution pops up down in the right side of the screen. But that solution doesn't work on WFaS. Even not when it's the same error.
But I'll check my computer memory.
 
Now I know what the exact error is. But I still don't know how to fix it.
I found the wrong part in the end of the rgl_log, and hope someone can figure out how to fix it.

The Warnings are just that--warnings, not errors, and things that all rgl_logs show (as noted above).

As for the HERR_BUFFER_LOCK_FAILED_NO_MEMORY and the memory errors that follow, they indicate you are running out of RAM/video RAM.
At 3GB of RAM and 1.5GB(?) of video RAM...that shouldn't be happening on your system. Have you used the battle sizer or anything?

Have you tried enabling "Load Textures on Demand" in the launcher Configure screen?
 
There are quite a lot threads about that runtime error. That generally happens when you have a 32 bit Windows 7 or sometimes a 32 bit XP system. It happens because 32 bit computers have 3GB RAM limit. But some mods in Warband and WFaS itself demand more RAM. So only 4GB or more RAM with a 64 bit system can solve this problem effectively. There is another method to remove the RAM limitation from 32 bit systems. I did it, and now, I can run every single mod in Warband and WFas. However, I am not sure if there is a risk about it. Because I transfered the memory for hardware to the use of the system. I have been testing it for a few months, there is no problem. But still, I can't fully recommend it. So try lowering the graphics, and loading textures on demand, as Caba'drin said.
