Brooks, while a good "historian", is very off on the efficacy of armor and katana on zombies. While I agree with his assertion that semi-automatic battle-rifles would be the most effective anti-zombie weapon, I do not agree that a katana is anywhere near the cqc weapon he thinks it is. You dont understand the bokken. Its made of pure oak, is longer than a bat, and is very sturdy. I could imagine easily taking on lone zombies and perhaps groups, but i doubt it would break that easily. I also have a BB gun, which I might use. I mean sure its not lethal enough but Its better than your fists.

I wouldn't like the range I'd have to get to, to make sure it hit them. That plus the loudness, I don't think you can silence a shotgun. (Then again, I wouldn't know.)
I'd prefer a pistol for it's magazines and silencer, plus aiming at the head would be easier.

Uh huh. A BB gun is going to take down a zombie. Good luck getting through the skull. As to the bokken, I doubt it. An ash staff can break a face, but its got a lot more leverage, and even then, its not really going to **** up the brain. Knock somebody out, sure, which will lead to death, but its certainly not pulverizing the brain. Repeated hits might, but in the time you get those hits off, you've been eaten.maker_of_pixels 说:

Anyhow yeah all weapons suck that lack piercing power. Really seeing as a simple hole thorugh the brain will do any professional with a high-caliber sniper will do just fine. Especially silenced.

A .22 rimfire semi-automatic, I could see using. At medium range, the bullet has enough power to break through the skull, but that's it. It can't break out of the skull, the meaning being that the brain would be pulverised as the bullet richochets inside.
