Da-da-da-da! I have started work on the long-awaited Zelda Mod! Recruiting helpers to make it. Also, need a banner to put in sigs as I am completely hopeless with Photoshop.

features:
-items found in the Zelda games (including Epona!)
-Hyrule world map, starting city - perhaps Kokiri forest?
-Link unlockable

Any takers?

Sounds good, have you done anything for the mod yet, or are you looking fro other people to do most of the modeling and codding?

hmm a zelda mod? with deku nuts and and biggoron swords? im for it, i'd probabaly help modeling, but only if you prove that you have done some work and that this is a real mod that could happen.

Mmm, Most exelent. How would you plan to make the enemys, though? You'd have to make a whole new skeleton model for things like Deku's (Small size) and Gorons (Hunched backs). I like the idea, but I don't think you could really get the same feel from it, because it would take a huge ammount of time and effort to model and script all the enemys, seeing that most of them are not human. You could get away with.. The blue fish dudes from Majora's Mask, etc. I think it would be extreamly hard to do these, unless you modeled armor to make different monsters. Though you could converse w/ Yoshi, seeing that in his Fantasy Mod he made little Armadillo's... All in all, I definatly support this mod, but I think it will take quite a long time, =X.

Good luck, =D

Every good mod takes time, and the rest of the people in the world need to be patient with the mod.

I have a bit of coding prowess (programmed before in various languages) so yeah, I have started tinkering a bit. I'm keeping a logbook of all the changes to the module scripts I have done, so that if necessary I can go back and fix bugs.

You mean zoras ? Yeah, I'm practicing modelling but in truth that is my achilles' heel... Wings 3D I find is very helpful, yet not enough to save me from my own hopelessness. I may be able to follow a tutorial with success, but left to my own ingenuity, I... well - suck.

Yeah I'll do coding but I may need help with modelling... eg. items etc (can't figure out UV mapping ) anyone who is good with graphics is a boon to my cause and is welcome to it.

I was thinking - y'know, because of character creation and all; that maybe starting as Link or having the mod assume you are Link is a bad idea - e.g. people who make female characters...? So I was thinking of making Link unlockable (new variable "link_start" must equal 1 when creating character, then "Link" appears as a gender choice, when you click his name it takes you straight to the skill allotment screen (don't know how blond hair can be fixed, however ) and Link has his own assortment of items (including green Kokiri hat, w/ blond tuft through front).

Also, despite my claims, I am not particularly good so I need an assistant coder.

Cheers,
