I also bought the Bill Bailey live at the apollo stand-up dvd the other day. Genius. Perhaps even better than Black Books! *Gasps from the audience*

Yes, Minister is the original. Hacker didn't start as prime minister, but as minister of administrative affairs.

The best comedy show has to be Garth Merenghi's Darkplace, it was totally underwatched and my all time favourite comedy (ok, not really sitcom but hey). hopefully they're doing a movie of it. Anyway, is out on DVD soon, so check it out and if enough people do maybe they'll do another series.
