While watching the videos, I thought that it might be a good idea to explain lance recruitment with a few sentences at the start of a new game, so that completely new players have a rudimentary idea about what it is and aren't completely lost.

Doing a manual, annopedia, ect. would be a good idea. The problem is that many things still change while the mod is in development. And I have no willpower to do them, at least currently.

anyway, if anyone willing to make a short text with the details, i can add it in.

who's kootra?

Well, Kootra is somewhat known for his gameplay videos and did several other Warband mod/native video series with his main character Creature Shepard and spawns of this main char. I somehow like his way of commenting. He is also known for never ending one of his series, that's why some guys made comments in other Warband videos I saw, like 'Do you intend to finish this series or are you going to pull off a Kootra?'...

For the explanation part of lance recruitment, I just meant a brief overview, something like the following maybe:

Lance recruitment represents the Medieval feudal system, this means that you can only recruit from fiefs that directly belong to you, i.e. you have to be a lord or a king with some fiefs and you cannot recruit from fiefs that belong to other lords. If you don't own any fiefs you have to rely on mercenaries who are recruitable in every town via a menu option, or also in taverns. A lance consists of 10 troops out of different kinds of units. Depending on the kind of fief, the composition of the lance can vary, for instance - a lance from a castle will usually include more horseman, a lance from a village will include more archers and infantry (2-h weapons units), a lance from a city will also contain more infantry (spearmen/swordmen) and, depending upon the culture, more crossbowmen or archers.

You forgot mercenary recruitment, so I added this for you:

A mercenary group consists of usually 30 units, a variety of all classes and are only recruitable from cities and taverns.
