My list is Firentis, Alayen, Ymria, Bunduk, Jeremus, Deshavi, Klethi, and I just added Basthesthur because he doesn't fight with anyone 
I like Alayen too, he is everything good about what a noble is, mild mannered, a nice fellow, and likes Ymira. He's also my best fighter by far.
I also like Katrin, but some of my guys have issues with her so I can't have her sadly.

To me, companions are like leaders when i get knocked out from a battle, so i had 4 with me: Rolf, Nizar, Lezalit and then i had Firentis, but i had to let the last one go because he's a trouble maker, he was always picking fights with the others when he himself killed his own brother, i mean, the least he could do is to fight and keep his trap shut, but no, he's always saying Nizar would kill him in battle if he hadn't dodged, of course Nizar would kill him, he was probably fighting with them in the middle of the battle, but anyway, he's gone.
So i now have Rolf, Lezalit and Nizar.
Rolf is a major master freaking super brave fighter, i mean he has the house of Rolf complex but that is gone now i think, one time i saw him going down the hill with about 5 soldiers (rhodok spearmen i think) and i thought damn, now i have to go and help him, but i was surrounded myself so i couldn't, but, the next thing i know, is me watching the messages about - "Rhodok spearman killed by Rolf" - This message poped up a bunch of times and then i see the guy coming up the hill, no shield, only his morning star, filled with blood and then he came to help me. Man i was proud of him that day. If i could recommend him to King Ragnar to make him his vassal that would be super cool.
Lezalit is something else, i mean the dude is just crazy, he doesn't know the word "Fear" and he doesn't drop back. During sieges (when i'm defending something), he's there at the stair end waiting for them to come with his war cleaver and he just slashes them in pieces, man he's young and a crazy bastard.
And finally nizar, who is fast, accurate with his javelins (every companion of mine has a bag of those) and he knows when to raise his shield and when to attack, he's the one i love having in the front line fighting off rhodok seargents (i'm in the middle of a massive war between the Nords and the Rhodoks). He doesn't care if the enemy is wearing a metal helmet, if it's a head and it's still alive he hits it like a lion (his weapon is the same as the vaegir knights, which i don't remember the name).
- Firentis - was a great fighter, he was usually the first to go out, but before someone could knock him to the ground he would kill every enemy in front of him, sadly, the *****ing was too much so i had to let him go.
So my vote goes to Rolf, that if picked up early in the game which i did and i'm now past a thousand days, you can make him a tough fighter.

Your list is same as mine. I only don't like quarrels.
