Your favorite standup comedians

My personal favorite is without doubt Bill Hicks. So far I've watched, Last Stand, It's Just A Ride, and Revelations.

Other great ones are Eddie Murphy (As a movie actor he's ****e, he shines in standup), Richard Pryor (Haven't gotten my hands on too much of his material though), and sometimes Andrew Dice Clay (Sometimes he simply leaves me cold, but some of his jokes are incredible)

George Carlin

All time favorite. Not even the blue collar guys are up where George Carlins is.

I like Ron White.

I caught Tom Shillue on Comedy Central two weeks ago. Half hour show. Funny!

No favorites for me - although there are a few guys I like - it's mainly the jokes for me. I do like D Chappelle and the guys from the Original Kings of Comedy like Cedric the Entertainer, etc. There's a new guy - Ganzo from Uxkhal - who slays me! The guy doesn't say much but it's the way he says it and then (LOL) crosses his arms as though he just said something profound!

You guys need to get to Ireland or England and hear some real comedians
Try Edinburgh fringe festival or Kilkenny Cat Laughs

Ever see Comeday Central's 100 Greatest Standups list. Almost everybody on there is awesome.

But a few of my favorites are: Kevin James, Dave Chappelle, Mitch Hedberg, Lewis Black, Lenny Bruce (without him there would be no comedians), Norm Macdonald, and George W. Bush (who may or not know he is a comedian).

Lewis Black. I got to see him do a live show with Dave Attel (much less funny than on his show Insomniac). I'd probably say Jon Stewart too but I don't know that he does standup. Still got a soft spot for early Steve Martin and classic Sam Kinison too.

I've watched some of the top 100, and they are mostly ****e when compared to Bill Hicks. Only a few of them were actually funny.

Er, dudes, I've only ever heard of a few of these ppl you're talking about...

My opinion:
1st place>Jasper Carrott
2nd place>Peter Kay (shame he never gets new material)

I second that!

Rodney Carrington. Blows the blue collar comedy tour out of the water. If you have Limewire search for him.

Second is Dave Chappele.

i'll go with dave chapelle. i dont likeeddie murphy. he was the guy who played the ass in shrek cause that was the only time he was funny.
