Your favorite ranged weapon

I have all three Runed Bows in my current game.  The Ruby Rune is best when you are starting out and don't have the power draw yet to one-hit kill everyone with other bows.  Once you up your power draw, horse archery, and bow proficiencies, then the Emerald and finally the Sapphire Bow become the best.  The Sapphire Bow is super accurate and reloads fast and hits for 70+ damage now which kills most enemies.

Thrown weapons are powerful, but the quantity is very limited.  Only 12 or so and are hard to find on the field.  There's no need to do 100+ damage when you can do 70+ with a Runed Bow and have 30+ arrows to fire.  It's cool though to hit someone in the face with a javelin.

Man! Throw weapon such as Javelin are so annoying! Even if you play in slow motion, You need to aim few pitch higher than bow, fire sooner than bow, and you got to have Hawky eye!

I made arrows unlimited too, but throwing spears are easier to aim on move and I can carry 3 packs, enough to shoot down entire castle garrisons

Ruby Rune Bow hands down! With a high archery skill it is possible to one shot everything but Netherworld chargers Most battled I get 25+ kills, far more than simply lancing or meleeing.

TweakMB, But remember If you put unlimited ammo in throwing knives, all troops  using throwing knives have unlimited ammo too

I'd really like for crossbows to get some love in PoP 4. Far too inaccurate for their rate of fire, and there are no rune/legendary equivalents for them.

I am new to PoP and would like to know how the Ruby Rune Bow got in my inventory, does it have something to do with the jatu and how i dominated them?I think this because their God spoke to me all angry like but it doesent make sense to give me such a death dealer i he is angry with me right?

Ruby Rune Bow + large bag of Noldor arrows. Especially in the early game.
The reduced speed and accuracy are more then made up by the awesome damage. Besides, it's the only uber-bow I can easily get in the early game..

What he said ^^. Pretty much a one shot kill and it destroys shields. Super accurate on horseback too

The Siege Crossbow is my favorite ranged weapon in PoP. Its very powerful in sieges (instant kill on headshots) and you don't even need to put any skill points in it to deal respectable damage, thus freeing up points that could be added to other skills.

I got the bow from the ravenstern God, but it was power draw 7, which is going to take me a while to get there.

So I gave it to Lethadrian (sp?) once I got him in my party. 

I am having trouble finding good bows to buy.  I have a d'shar bow that can be used on horseback, but it is only 23p damage, and I have some +3 arrows, but I cannot find anything better in any towns.

I ahve a quallis gem, but I haven't met any Norldor yet to get my rep. up with them enough so Quifgen will let me buy Noldor stuff.
