Your enemies prisoners?

Is there any way to capture your enemies prisoners after you win a battle?

It appears that when I win a battle there is only one option to "hire" them into my group but theres no way to take them prisoner. why?

One mans prisoner is another mans.. well... prisoner too. 

I want to sell people into slavery whenever I can.

No, you can only hire them.

That's unfortunate. There should be an option for either way.

You do get that option if it's a captured lord who's also your enemy; you can let him go or say, 'You're not going anywhere "friend" you are my prisoner now,' and he'll be very cross.
