audi owns your soul. There is absolutely no finer quality automobile then the A4 for the price.

Resale for one. It's gotta have super low miles to get any attention at the auction. A lot of them after a few years have upper engine noise and drive like the motor mounts are busted.

BMW is the most over-rated automaker out there (and this is coming from an M3 owner) Since the late 90's in my opinion BMW hasn't produced anything with real substance. The cooper is just an novelty car, which was marketed well, and got public exposure in film. Other then that it's fairly average in every category (same as all BMW products at this point)

I like it and that's all that matters to me.

Honestly, it's the only German car I've driven that didn't feel "clunky" and have a strange throttle response.

I've got nothing against people driving regular mini's.... but when people spend 75K AUD to have theirs come with a factory supercharger kit and some other crap, i do wonder. For 75K you could get a much better car. Plus the fact that its pretty much impossible to tune the mini anymore at that point.

A new supercharged Cooper is less than $23,000 American. I don't know how much it is there, but that's not too bad here.

If you think a big v8 truck has bad gas mileage, then wait till you drive a jeep like that, smaller vehicle with even more gas guzzling problems. They usually have very inefficient yet easily fixed if broken engines, tends to be a problem with things massed produce for war.

Oh, I don't doubt it - they are just cool. Only future will tell if we end up running cars on Ethanol or completely revamp to a hydrogen-based energy storage and electric cars. If Ethanol is ever a possibility, I'd consider one of these to convert - if not, I wouldn't bother.
