I want duel Stubs!!!!!!!


Picked Capture The Flag: Funneh moments with my OLL homies.
Picked Battle: Battle is just an awesome mode.
Deathmatch: Spamming is a funny thing.

Conquest could be really fun if you where to be able to mod into something like a 'push' game type. But it needs good linear maps and fixed spawns

CTF, great game mode, no good maps for it. Been working on some but the map editor is a pain and balance is hard. You need to give cav a role, but yet not make it dominate. Same with archers and inf. You cant copy a classic CTF map (like 2 fort) as in those games all classes have ranged weapons. Something you dont have in WB. And fix the spawns =/

And lastly siege, well i am ZHG what can i say :smile: we like siege. (and TDM)

ZHG has 2 ZHG events a week. (mondays and fridays) where we sometimes switch over to less played game modes. CTF stays populated the longest of them.
 
Well having found out about conquest, it actually uses CTF spawns, with CTF using siege spawns... which is probably why conquest and CTF spawns seem so random (and crap).

There is infact, no way to implement entry points on a single map AND make the make suitable for all game types, its not going to happen. This is why those two game types are unpopular on current native maps.

With F&D, it simply uses 2 entry points (you could say spawn points)... so to make a map that fits battle too, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
 
I started making maps that are only good for one game type.
If i want to use the same layout of map i make a different version with different spawnpoints.

I would myself but i get bored and start something else after i have done the main feature.

Anyone want a Japanese castle, that cunningly looks japanese :shock: that isnt actualy finnished... or atleast my cunning ideas :razz:
 
Well, I've sort of half completed it...

Team 1 home flag and spawn will be at a ruined tower or something, very little cover

The other flags will be at a bridge, town and woodland area, each of these areas are good defencive positions and will require communication to and good team work to take them, bearing in mind you have 1 life and you spawn in waves every now and then, and you only spawn at your home flag. So planning tactics is a must.

Team 2 home flag and spawn is starting at a windmill, very little cover.

The map goes in a horse shoe, with rivers and bridges and in the middle there is a large impassable hill, so you cant shoot across the map.

To get ground and territory, you must take 1 flag at a time towards your opponent. :razz: I'll get screen shots up soon.

Battle is my least favorite gametype, well maybe siege.

Too much 'dodge the arrow' gameplay in those modes. Deathmatch and teamdeath match can be fun unless they start getting campy, duel you can actually fight people in melee and actually use the great melee combat system that is actually unique to this game.
 
Hmm, strange you say that. If people weren't capable of dodging arrows, how unfair and boring would that be? Its purely down to the archers skill and if they cant hit anything at all, well, maybe they shouldn't be an archer :razz:

TDM campy? Never! Having a tdm server my self (4:cool: slots, barely do people camp. Ok yes, you do get a few archers camping but they are easily picked off.

When its not Rhodoks+ village I either annoy Nom, duel Bliv or hunt Barry. And Nom still owes me that 5k(or was it more) from that time he reset the map after i had been saving up ma pennies. :cry:

Uh i wasnt in any way saying that archers should be able to determine 100% if they hit or not. I'm saying as an infantry player the minigame of having to dodge arrows being shot at me is not fun. I also didnt say that DM and TDM are campy gametypes, only that they can lose some of the fun in the rare instances where you do have camping going on.

Well, ok, nor was I implying that archers should be able to determine 100% on whether they hit. But yeah, I agree, when theres an archer on a hill, very hard to get to him... so I just go archer and shoot him off, then pick up a shield to fight as infantry or something  :wink:

Besides, if you just want to stay infantry, let them sit up there, you just stay hidden and fight behind stuff :grin: He'll come down eventually to try and shoot you.
 
Subterfuge and camping are the keys to tdm, at least thats what works best for me
 
Depends on the class you play, the map, and number of players.

Large amount of players on a map with buildings and you'll get randomly shot up by archers the whole time as cav. Few players and open map and you are king.

Infantry can choose if they want to play into the camp game or not I suppose.
