so i join in fights where my 2 groups are fighting 1 (2 groups being my allies) group 1 in my allies has 200/230, the 2nd group has 70/100 so that should be 270 of them ready to fight, i have 80 ready to fight, so that should be 350 ready to fight, the enemy has 300/340.. i attack and it says i have 130 ready to fight versus the enemy who has 300.. anyone care to explain why this is? as it is very annoying and apparently running around with allies is pointless

Maybe one of your allied lords ran away? Try exiting the battle and wait for just a second and you'll see if there are any lords running away.

If not I am out of guesses.. : (

nope they are all engaged ijn the fight, it says 400 + 100  (combiend groups + prisoners) it should be 350 after injured, yet its only starting me with 120 makes no sense

Well, tactics should affect your "battle advantage", so it might help a bit, but I don't really know how much when it's about so big numbers...

Well his problem is that the numbers don't add up, he is getting a message that the troops ready for battle are around 1/3 of the troops that actually are ready for battle.

I think I saw this once in one of my other games, but I still beat them so I didn't care much about the whole thing..

The Battle Size setting affects the number of men who actually take part in any given fight during the battle, although everyone will fight eventually. What the screen tells you before you start is the number who will take part in that particular fight, not in the whole battle. It's to make sure your computer doesn't grind to a halt trying to work out what to do with 1500 men on the battlefield.

No... When you come across a battle with 500 on each side and you join it will say "You have 550 [you have 50 troops in your party] troops ready for battle, the enemy have 500 troops ready for battle".

No, he already checked how many people that were injured..

Were you counting the total number of troops or the total number of troops not knocked out?

Since he write [bold numbers] I guess he have counted the men not knocked out..
