Recruit
So I just bought mount and blade 1 (yea I'm a bit late to the party) and love it so so much. With mount and blade 2 coming I got more excited.

But then I saw the system requirements. Recommended processor is a Ryzen 5 3600x. That's kind of going to be demanding for large fights.

Anyone know if the graphics toggle will be a big help for this? I have a Ryzen 5 2600 and a rtx 2060 but these bigger battles seem like it will kill my processor.

I think your processor is fine. Having twelve threads is more important than a slightly higher clock rate. I would be surprised if you have any problems with larger battles. I have an old i7-8700 and I am expecting to have good performance in this game.

To be fair, this depends on how effectively the game makes use of multithreadding.

In general response to OP... I have various forms of good news.

1. Many beta players with weaker processors report that they're playing fine with higher troop counts using a mod that isn't even optimized.

2. You can set limits on troops in battle at a time (causing waves of reinforcements to come more frequently), which should help tremendously with both CPU and GPU concerns, if need be.

If you really have issues, the battle sizes are adjustable so you can only max out 100v100 ai, which is easily manageable with what you have. I'm using an I7 3770k and a gtx 1650 and was able to do 300v300 with the mod that came out not long ago, all at 55-60FPS constant.

They did state that the game does take advantage of multi-threading quite extensively. They did not say if there was a limit on how many threads are used.

I have a 2600X, which is only slightly better than your 2600. It will run the game perfectly fine. You will see a CPU bottleneck during massive AI battles, however.

I can confirm that the game uses every core/thread on my 2600X, which is 6c,12t

So you got to play? Have you tried lowering graphics settings in large battles and it helped or did you leave them as is?

Yeah, I have access to the beta. During 500vs500 AI battles, CPU load would reach 100% across all cores and threads, while my 2070 Super load reduces itself to about 60%, which indicates a bottleneck from the CPU. Don't worry, though, it can handle most battles perfectly fine
