Yet more unsolicited suggestions

I'm sure this has been suggested many times before, but Having a server option to allow players to pick a basic weapon (falchion, short bow, quarter staff) would be really helpful for new people trying to get into the game.

Come to think of it, would there be a way to create 'Merchant's Goods', and if players bring them to a certain location they get money. Might allow for convoys or something of the sort.

Maybe 'farming' so civilians, who are usually off limits, can make money without getting chopped up by bandits. Or something.

The coins are cool. Can you really give people money by throwing coins at them? It'd be nice to have more coin spots so people can 'pay taxes'.

I humbly thank you for listening to my ridiculous ideas.

Hi there,

[long answer]
In version 3 you can purchase low-end weapons in a little fortified town that is part of the safety spawn zone. You can also earn denari in the safe zone before entering the real world.

In version 3 there are three castles operating; each castle produces a trade good and buys the goods produced in other castles. Civilians can purchase a 'Trader's Daybook' when they spawn which will enable them to be a 'merchant' who can buy and sell these commodities. This will mean traders are having to travel between castles.

In version 3 mining will also necessitate convoys of sorts. Instead of harvesting denari at the mine, serfs need to collect iron bars from the mine (which requires a mining pick). They then must return to any one of the 3 operating castles to 'stockpile' the iron in order to receive the denari. Again, this means miners need to travel to and from the mine.

Finally, regarding coins:

The coins that are in game now only partially work, so don't use them .
The way they worked was you bought the coins which could then be dropped on the ground so another player could pick them up. That player would then throw the coin which would disappear and grant you denari. That was how money could be traded. At the moment, sometimes when you throw the coin it doesn't give you the money (hence don't use it!)

In version 3 there's a new coinage system. Instead of throwing the coin to redeem its value, you deposit it at the bank. Same effect, but this one actually works.

Your ideas are good, and feasible. And I've already implemented all of them which are playable in the Version 3 release (which should be soon).

I hope we are earning more money per trip. I would like less mining and more roleplay myself...

Yes, mining is getting very boring.  Especially since ill mine for like 10 minutes, die, go back to mining, reach 15,000 denari, then crash.

-Id like the ability to sell weapons.  Maybe half the price they were originally bought for.

-Also, I think there needs to be a way to change armor without having to die.  Mercenaries could wear a special type of colored faction armor to signify they are mercenaries, but working for that faction.

-Neutral faction also needs to have better level 2 armor.  It is different from red's armor, but too many people confuse it as such.  Change level 2 neutral armor to something else that is gray.  Or better yet, keep the armor but make it gray.

-There has to be a clear indication on who is a bandit and who is not.  Almost everyone who is a bandit will start freaking out on me saying they are a civilian or a traveling priest when I attack them...yet if I had my back turned and we were alone, id get attacked by them.  This isnt that big of a deal, it really isnt.  Its just frustrating at times.  Bandits should have their own clothes from innocent civilians.  I suppose the idea of being a bandit in this game is sneaking around, but werent most bandits in history clearly distinguishable and hunted down even without committing a crime in the open?  I like the idea of hunting down the bandits to protect civilians or being hired by a faction to do so, but I cant do that when every bandit is a "priest".
