Yet another Warband activation/serial key question

I looked up some threads but they didn't answer my question, so...

I haven't been around much for the last few years, so excuse me, but do do I have to buy Warband separately or should my old Mount&Blade serial key work for activation? (which it doesn't do)

I have an itch that it's buy time, but I just wanna check for sure.

You couldn't find a thread, but you didn't think to even look at steam or on the website?

No you need a new serial key.
