Stumpled upon the album "Classic Yes" by Yes on Youtube.
And I was completely blown away! The compositions are amazing and the musicians are great, especially the guitar player.
Some of the best rock music I've ever heard.

Why have no one told me of this band? I need new friends.

I see they've released quite a few albums over the years. Any recommendations on where to start?
I've also heard "Tales From Topographic Oceans" which is awesome.

Yes are impressive. TFTO is a very good album, though I find it difficult to concentrate all the way through it. I find it better as background music. From what I can tell, people consider Close to the Edge and Fragile as two of the better albums. Personally, I am a big big fan of Close to the Edge.

For example, this song has my favourite minute of music ever (from 3 to 4 mins). The rest ain't bad either.

You might not have the attention span, but they do
The music is tight and intense all the way through, flows like a long story is unfolding. Amazing.
I will visit the music library soon to pick up a few albums. Thanks

Oh, it's not that. I have many longer songs and longer albums, but there is something dreamy about those songs that just stops me from properly listening to it all the way.

The (good) local classic rock radio station plays Yes fairly regularly. I'd say the play I've Seen All Good People the most of all their songs, which is fine by me 'cause that's my favorite.

I don't particularly care for their work in the 80s or later, though.

Been listening to Yes all day. Their first album Yes is fine but traditional, with uninspired run of the mill love songs.
The later albums The Ladder and Magnification are somewhat disappointing. Not quite the same drive and inventiveness.
The Yes Album is pretty good.

But Fragile is superb, and so is Close to The Edge, and Relayer.

Hehe, guess where my name comes from  I prefer Close to the Edge to Fragile, though. I think the compositions in it are more solid. I kind of grew tired of Fragile's "prog for the sake of prog" elements. Also, Jon Anderson gets annoying in the long run.
