so i need to buy the original game  to get the mount and blade 2... grrrrrr!

You live up to your name.

You can only play quick battles on Warband without serial key now. But the battles are same (but now with bugs) than in the old Mount & Blade.

So just download the demo of M&B 1.011 and you get the same thing you're getting from Warband,
except that 1.011 has the limited singleplayer portion, where Warband has no singleplayer other than quickies.

My point is there is no point in downloading Warband if you aren't accepted to beta.
Ok, sure, you can get it to see how the game has changed, but the changes are so minimal and the Quick Battles are very bugged...

Best to wait for official release of Warband or try to get into beta.

Play Mount and Blade 1.011 demo while waiting, or go buy the full version (it's one of the best purchases you've ever made).

Sorry for this random babbling, I didn't know how to put it any other way. English is not my main. ^.^

EDIT: And it's not Mount and Blade 2,  it's 1.6x
