Its so damn painfully slow now, to unlock perks that mostly don't work! Have fought so many battles. My character has taken like 15 fortresses, outnumbered, with no armies helping, and my party size hasn't raised in forever. I don't know what in the hell actually raises leadership skill, cause it ain't the stuff they say there.

To be honest, i never once yet had a problem wiht lvling leadership, like anyone else seems to have.
Both leadership and stewardship just lvl passively pretty fast if you have diuverse food and troops from my experience. Of course you need to put some focus points into those to lvl them.

Could you Tell us how you Level leadership? With an army or without? If without how so you keep morale high enough?

with an army, i think the bigger and better the army the more ex you get. My main source of morale is food, the more diverse food you have the beter the morals, the faster your units lvl, the faster your prisoners convert. You can also order food from the tavern wench for your men and it boosts morale even more. And of course winnning battles brings huge amounts of moral.

I do nothing except that and leadership as well as stewartship lvl up like crazy just by walking around the map.

You can also gain better moral boost by winning hard battles but its a risk

Personal and troop xp seems fine to me 2bh it is more that some perks are still not working etc.
Converting high tier prisoners seems to either be broken or just takes way too long and that is with only the high tier prisoners with me.
I have had a bunch of legionaries and elite cataphracts prisoners for a looooooooong time and not one has converted.

Seems pretty clear that the higher a prisoner's tier, the lower their chance of becoming recruitable. Tier 1-3 will pretty readily convert. Tier 4 might have to wait a bit, but they'll eventually come around. I've seen a Tier 5 become recruitable maybe twice in almost 200 hrs of gameplay...just not worth lugging around in chains for many months imo. Tier 6 (highest-tier nobles; Fian Champs, Banner Knights etc) prisoners I think are 100% blocked from ever being eligible, so that's not even an opinion call, just ransom them off (or donate for influence) and move on.

You cant recruit top tier units from captivities at the moment if ive understood it right

Ye the higher tier units are rly hard to recruit from prisoners. Although having food variety and high leadership seems to help tremendously. I dont know yet if rougery boosts this as well, since i havent skilled into that in any playthrough yet.

Only real way is to create an army with your clan member and walking everywhere with him.
High morale increases your leadership skill but you need 80-90+ in my expirience.
And it is very hard to do without leadership skill.
And xp gain for that is pretty low.

One of my points though: if its going to take so long, then there needs to be MORE STUFF TO DO. Not just roaming seeking battles, like the last 30 or so I fought. THe SP character levels up like an ONLINE character but I'm out of missions/game already so why bother, heh. I'm not gonna play for the strategy aspect of beating other kingdoms cause its identical to Warband in that sense and not that grand.

It doesn't even really work cause other kingdoms just take one of yours sometimes you're taking their castle etc. Its more about building a character, but if there's nothing to do with it you will stop building it.

I totally get your sentiment, it is the reaosn i haven't touched this game for the past week. There is no strategy aspect to this game, although it is teases by having a map. There is no real roleplay to speak of, since there are no interesting stories originating in this world yet. And i am not even talking about scripted quest, i am just talking about possibilities for the player to spin their own stories out of interesting events. There is so little happening and to do and it is so damn repetiive, that it gets very boring very fast.

The game has huge potential for roleplay, on par with a title like kenshi, but at the moment it is all just a big tease, just like the strategy part. This game could be the ultimate synthesis of roleplay, strategy and combat(tactical as well as bloody hands on combat), at the moment though it only does combat and one could argue that other games like Mordhau do it way better and against the AI this becomes a borefest pretty fast too.

mmm i love Kenshi as a game  How ever this is M&B and it does have role play elements to it how you want to approach in the world. But we must not forget that its foremost an war action game with strategical and rpg elements in it. As in Kenshi you make up your character in your mind like you do it here and forms it from there to survive its climate. But keep in mind that its also two almost different games/platforms with mechanics and all even if they are the same in a way since Kenshi is also action related but more survival. M&B has its own thing with a mix of old Total war mentality but as an FPS/RTS merging your own story with freedom to choose as an RPG. Become a banditlord go for it, a cruel duke or Great King of Vladia shoot, Building an Empire with money and influence the key to the doors is yours if you manage. I dont know how many different characters ive been building stories as and been a fun memories for sure. But can agree that the stories might not all be there for you to do in details as an RPG but all games has their limitations and as i said this is first an action game even if you can manage just as fine being an humble smith or dirty rich trader doing your own things .However it would be cool if they managed to pump in a lot of RPG to it to or mods for just that to flavor the world even more. But for me i fell in love with Warband in its concept as many other really good games during the years and they keep rocking solid in my book with their own thing  well worth the time waiting
