It's been a while since I played B&S and I haven't been very active here but what I recall the new version (with alephs and champions) was quite close to release.

I'm assuming you have a case of Real Life and not working on the mod because of that. Are you planning to continue the mod at some point? Would it be possible to release unfinished new stuff just to let people try it out or does that still require lot of work?

I've had lots of fun with the mod and it would be great to have some New Stuff to try out again.

Yeah, well. It happens to all of us. Damn Life, getting in our way when we want to do stuff 
Anyway, I've picked up Warband again a week or so ago. An I've been playing nothing but B&S for that matter. I still enjoy this mod. But you can only play so long the same thing before you get bored of it...
