        ANNOUNCEMENTS

TRANSFER WEEK

As our ruleset states;

Arys said:
§ 1.2 ROSTER
[list type=decimal]
[*]Team rosters must consist of at-least 10 players.
[*]Should a player not be on a roster and play for a team, then the player will be treated as a member of said team and will be added to their roster.
[*]Any player who has not yet played in a WPL match may join a team at any time. However, once a player has played for one team they may not play for another team until the transfer week. The transfer week will take place in the third week of the ladder-stage. After the transfer week ends, players will not be able to transfer teams, unless under special exemption from the administration team.
[/list]

It's the third week of the tournament, so you'd to play for another team, you are permitted to do so. Remember, this will be the only week where you can transfer to another team.

Contact me if you have any questions.

PICKING ORDER

As our ruleset states;

[anchor=tag5]§ 2.2 LADDER STAGE[/anchor]

Picking order is determined by the following;
  • Teams with 0 points that were in the WPL the previous week.
  • Teams that have joined the WPL in the current week.
  • Teams yet to pick with the lowest number of points
  • Should teams have equal number of points, then the team with the most rounds won is given priority.

3. Teams may not pick a team they played against in the previous week or a team more than one level above them, unless there is no other alternative.
4. If a team misses their pick or makes an invalid pick, their pick is randomised from any of the next 3 teams in the picking order that lost their latest match or are new to the ladder. Failing that, the pick is taken from the next team in the picking order that lost their last match or is new to the ladder. Failing that, the pick is randomised from any of the next 3 teams in the picking order.
5. If a team only has two teams to choose from and one of the teams sat out the previous week, they must pick that team.
6. If the league has an odd number of teams, the team that has first pick will be awarded a default win.
7. If two teams fail to play their match within the deadline, for the purposes of the next pick night they will be treated as if they had won their match and lost all rounds.

This has been changed to:

[anchor=tag5]§ 2.2 LADDER STAGE[/anchor]

  • Teams with 0 points that were in the WPL the previous week.
  • Teams that have joined the WPL in the current week.

4. If a team misses their pick or makes an invalid pick, their pick is randomised from any of the next 3 teams in the picking order that lost their latest match or are new to the ladder. TARDET

I'm pleased to welcome back one of the original WPL administrators, Tardet.

Tardet has done amazing work for this community, and has proven to be a great administrator. We look forward to working with him.

NOVAC AND TRANQUILITY

As many of you aware, Tranquility was caught violating rule § 1.2 (3)

[*]In order for a team to register, they must elect a player to be captain to handle all issues pertaining to the tournament for their team. Teams are also permitted to list a co-captain to help manage the team.
[*]When the double-elimination phase of the tournament begins, teams will only be permitted to make two substitutions to their roster.
[*]Team banners must abide by the TaleWorlds forum rules.
[/list]

Novac has already played for Bean Boys for week one and two. And he was not transferred to Tranquility during the transfer week. Tranquility did not contact any member of our staff to ask about Novac nor did they contact us to explain the situation either.

We do not consider this to be a small infraction either. Teams will be held responsible for rule infractions, and the "we didn't know" argument holds no weight.

As such, Tranquility will be stripped of all the rounds they won whilst Novac was playing. And Novac will receive a three match ban.

If you have any questions, further evidence, or if you'd like to dispute this decision, feel free to PM me.

Good day'

RULESET

No changes are being made to the ruleset but rather the administration will now be interpreting it as it is written. The clause 1.2 3 explicitly mentions the restriction pertaining to transferring teams, ie. you cannot switch from one team to another. The prior rule 1.2 2 enforces the binding measure between player and team, specifically citing the fact that once a player has played for a team they are then bound to that team and are treated as a member of it. The change in interpretation is concerning the effect of the transfer week; the transfer week is a measure which breaks the player-team bond. As such those who left their team during transfer week were, and remain, under our existing ruleset eligible to play for another team. The administration unanimously agreed to enforce the rule in this way.

MAP CHANGE

After several tests, we've decided to remove Amere Village from our fixtures and replace it with the new map Bhalie created by Kern. We've received positive feedback on the map, so hopefully it'll be a refreshing addition to our repertoire.

The map will be uploaded onto all of our servers by the end of today.

MAP CHANGE

I'll contact every captain and have them vote on both a open and closed map for week seven. Obviously the maps with the most votes will be played. (This should be sorted by Friday)

The winning maps are Frosty Battle and Nord Town.

I tried to contact every captain, some wouldn't respond, some I couldn't get a hold off. But the majority of votes were for those two maps.

DECISION REVERSAL

We've decided to reverse the following decision;

So the rule will be enforced in the following way: You may only transfer teams during the transfer week, if you didn't transfer during that week. You are stuck with the team you played with until the next tournament.

Our reason for reversing this decision is because of timing. The decision was announced two weeks after the transfer week had ended, when it should have been announced a week before the transfer week took place. Enforcing it now would be unfair to those players who missed the opportunity to remove themselves from their teams during the transfer week, should they have wanted to.

With that being said, I'd like to emphasize that the rule itself isn't an issue, it is actually the correct interpretation of the rule and is the way it should have enforced it. It's just our fault for not explaining it more clearly earlier.

This decision wasn't made by one individual, when the rule was brought into a question our whole staff had adequate time to state their opinions on the matter and voted for it's interpretation announced.

Ah, and one more thing. A lot of you like to write comments like, "classic AE admin bias", and it's quite frankly the most ridiculous posts you'll find on the forums (other than every post Fietta makes). These guys put in tons of hours to make our tournaments and competitive scene more enjoyable yet all you do is give them flak. It's probably a major reason why people like Scar and Deacon have lost interest in hosting tournaments for our community. I suggest that you spend less time trying to find excuses for why you can't beat AE, and spend more time on improving your skill :wink:

Anyways, have a good day. And we'll be making an announcement on whether we'll allow a Holiday break by Wednesday.

STAFF CHANGES

I've decided to remove Gibby from our staff for this tournament due to misconduct and ill-intent. Now, with that being said, we shouldn't burn Gibby at the stake for this. The man made a mistake, he shouldn't have acted that way whilst being an admin for this tournament, and he should've been clear of his motives when proposing the rule to the staff.

I'd like to thank Gibby for the hard work he's put into the tournament, and I hope this doesn't prevent him from becoming an admin in future tournaments. I think he's proven that he's more than capable of being one.

I've decided to bring two new administrators on board to help make sure the tournament continues to run smoothly. So with no further ado, I'd like to welcome; Oliveran and OGL to the WPL staff. Looking forward to working with you guys.

HOLIDAY BREAK

We'll be issuing a holiday break after the end of this week. There were a significant amount of teams that needed it, and I think it'll be refreshing in general. Teams are permitted to schedule their quarter finals match in this time, should they want to.

Break start: December 21st
Break end: January 3rd

I hope you all enjoy your holidays!

MODULE UPDATE

DOWNLOAD THE NEW MODULE HERE

The servers currently updated are:
European servers:
WPL_FR_1,2,3
WPL_DE_4,5,6

American servers:
WPL_CHI_1,2,3

More to come.

There are no more adminpasswords. Only team co-captains and captains will have admin-rights on the WPL2 servers. Their IDs have been added to an ID-based admin system. You as a captain simply have to log in with the serverpasswords, "wpl2", and you'll have get admin-rights automatically by the server.

Using any other module will not work, as it requires a player-server synchronization to apply the admin-rights to the player. Note for referees, your IDs has also been added and you must use this module as well.

Typo in the factions part of the quarter-finals thread. You do not play the same factions twice if both teams picked closed or if both teams pick open.

The factions have been renamed to; TEAM A MAP & TEAM B MAP

RULE CHANGE

The International stage of the tournament will now be changed to single elimination.

We felt that the double elimination was unnecessary, and since our community is tight on time right now. We felt it'd just be better to make it shorter.
