People don't just drop. I didn't make this thread out of wanting to better roleplay a psychopath (although admitedly I've been playing Postal 2 recently and it's some inspiring stuff) and I know there's a few wackos here that scream tears if an extremely vocal minority screams realism but I think this little addition would be both good for immersion and a decent mechanic.
But I believe, if certain characters would drop breathing, ineffectually mobile, or with the capacity to crawl or even stagger their out the way of danger, an additional layer of strategy would develop;
Firstly, there'd be a value in moving the battle away from bodies, as you don't want them trampled.
Second, you'd want to move bodies away from battles, especially high value characters like lords. If a lord escaping was down to a brave yet stoppable rescuer (or quick abduction by his enemies against a superior force), rather than completely arbitrary RNG, it'd be far cooler.
Lastly, in multi-stage battles, sides will be able to secure prisoners/hostages to trade for other prisoners/bargain for an escape in between bouts. Finding yourself against a numerically superior force (who're faster) you don't want to fight might really be survivable if you can pull off a big hostage grab.
