Worst loss/Best win

Kind of reminds me of the time I threw a jarid about 100m in the direction the enemy was coming from. As they start coming over the hill, the first one that you see gets hit in the face with it.

That brought up one of my  rare "awesome win moment" memories. At the end of a long, hard battle, there's one enemy left -- way up on a rise, dueling it out with one of my companions. Using the Shift key, I zoom in -- and even then they're still tiny -- and I can see Lezalit getting the worst of it. He's on the verge of going down, and nobody's anywhere near.

So despite the fact that even in zoom they're tiny figures in the distance, I stop the horse, nock an arrow, and fire a Hail Mary.... BOOM! Head shot! Just as the enemy was drawing back his spear for a finishing blow on Lezalit.

Best:
A newly taken city with a skeleton garrison in it, I had just taken something else and had stocked it with my best troops, heading back with my 9 companions and about 20 low-tier troops. I saw the besieged city with an army of 100 sitting outside, and I knew that if I got in, my 20 + the garrison's 25 would be able to pick off that army if they attacked. Got into the city, then 4 other armies turned up, so I ended up facing off against roughtly 600 troops with only 50ish troops. After those battles, city defence is a breeze for me; set up cavalry/infantry right where the ladder came up, and positioned myself to the side of the opening. Using the reach of me double handed balanced sabre and jumping to increase the hit height, I could catch almost every enemy soldier as they got caught on the tips of my companions swords... I think the final wave did break through and I had to break a hasty retreat along the battlements, taking them out as they came towards me, but I did get it in the end...

Worst has to be either being killed off by deserter Khergit Lancers on Day 2, assorted headshots or couched lance deaths from what are supposed to be general policing of my fiefs (desert and steppe bandits do that... ) or completely underestimating Rhodok Sharpshooters when attacking a Rhodok castle. I had an army of 150 Swadian Knights, crossbowmen and some Men At Arms... Completely wiped out by same number of enemy crossbowmen and vet spearmen.

Narrow ladder + lots of invaders + narrow entrance = whack-a-mole-esque fun!

But yes, I agree. As long as you don't run out of battlement/backing up room.

Holding Praven is a bugger for that. It may only have the single ladder coming up, but the wall's collapsed at the top so massing your forces there leaves them open to archers, and once they're at the top of the ladder the enemy have room to branch out.

This could lead to awesome street fights... but Praven's castle design is boring as Hell, so it's basically just a crowded fight on a single wall.

If only the street fights in singleplayer weren't so boring (You and some random allies vs 5-6 leftover enemies).

I want a bloody mess in the streets.

Worst loss: Besieging a castle (can't remember which one, but the ladders are on the inside of it so you're getting shot at from multiple directions) with about 550 men against a garrison of about 300, with half of those being Vaegir Marksman. The marksman wiped us out before we could even get on the wall.
Best victory: Enemy army of 3000 vs my garrison of 500, including my army. Won the siege then finished them off in the field.

Almerra Castle..ahh Almerra castle, how annoying you are. I conquered it, but i reloaded my save about 10 times, and then when I asked for it from my lord, he said FU and gave it to another Emir who never garrisoned it. So, I stayed and fought off an army of 400 with my 65 XD

Ditto! Same with the keeps.

All these awesome city streets and castle rooms were created -- it'd be fantastic to see more use made of them.  Archers lurking on stairs, infantry trying to block off alleys... it'd be great. The intro fight against bandits in town is more thrilling because of that mobile, dynamic element.

Or having to go through the keep door by door, hall by hall, running into ambushes, finding pockets of resistance, trying to ferret out the (probably wounded by now) enemy lord -- who's also probably trying to marshal his last standing forces.

Winning with a 80 Nord army vs a 1250 Swadian Raiding party.
Loosing to a party of steppe bandits with 34 huscarls

I took Tevarin castle from the Kingdom of Swadia with roughly 81 men as Rhodoks and hardly a day after, Harlaus comes a strollin' over and tries to take it back but I fought his 200 something men off and won with surprisingly low casualties. Pretty much it was a combination of his army being consisted of a lot of lower levels/recruits and mine was an experienced force of almost all Veterans or higher. We mowed down loads of the Swadians with crossbow fire before they even reached the ladder plus the entire time they were climbing the ladder their being shot at from the front, left and right sides and they couldn't break through the breach so they were being shot at even then. It was a glorious and tasty victory and I was awarded Tevarin castle shortly after

BEST WIN! When once i ninja a castle ( Made my troops hold ground) And then i saw the gate was open  I putted my archers to hold fire and go thought gate and then i said fire at will and they all didn't touch me :xf-mad:

Best lose : When i rushed my horse to some sharpshooters and they killed my horse + rushed by some footman and couldn't hit back cause when i try i got rushed by arrows and died  (P.S I had only two men army me + companion ) Got to prison and i lost my 2 castles that day . They attacked like hell.

2nd Best lose : followed marshal to siege then he cancel siege  and we all got owned by nords

P.S >>>>>>.> Bad English sorry guys >

I have a new best win... Assaulting Reyvadin for the second time (first assault I had to retreat but killed a little over half the garrison) Did the usual line up my archers just behind my infantry and let them fire away for a bit then sent in my infantry and followed them up myself. We had managed to kill all but 3 troops, one Vaegir Knight, and two infantry, I signaled for Jeremus to attack (had him cowering at the base of the wall since he has no weapon) hoping that he would hold their attention long enough for me to get them from behind.

Instead all three continued to come after me, I had managed to kill both of the infantry and give the Knight a good whack before he took me down. Then thanks to battle continuation I saw Jeremus come walking in, no weapons just shield, punched the Knight and KO'd him.

Sure I lost a little over half my troops, the others were all wounded but just seeing Jeremus come up and punch the last guy giving us a win was worth it.

One of the worst losses is whenever you besiege a town, take the walls, take the streets, and then get knocked out while trying to take the keep. Because afterwards the garrison apparently retakes the whole town and you have to start the siege all over again.

Yeah, trying to reach a couple of Rhodok sharpshooters while jumping over chairs and tables...
It's a disaster for my shieldless company.

That reminds me of the countless times I (again shieldless) was trapped by 5 to 7 forest bandits in a village. That's no fight, it's just execution by a firing squad!

Worst loss:
When i was trying to take Culmar castle, it only had 80 or something in garrison and i had over 200, and over 100 was huscarls.
It was truly ridicules...well the picture says it all.

Worst loss just happened:

Started a new character, imported my lvl 24 character over, ran around got all my heros and was going into Curaw to get an iron investment.  The bandit ambush happened since it was at night, got lit up by their arrows and ended up being knocked out in two hits and losing 7k.

best win was one of the time when I just captured a town of 350 khergits with my army of 30 and defending against 400 khergits with my army of 16 right after.

^ easiest difficulty and low battle scale cough cough cough (:
worst loss, against the 12 armed super peasant when training them.
best win, against a group of ~ 15 swadian knights against 45 full recruits, luckily the horses got bogged.
