I know, there's already things saying "slow map" "wtf slow laaaaag" but I followed the advice. Use the lower detail maps. No music. All my graphics are down to the bare minimum (10 % everything nothing enabled DX7). I waited after February. Through March 15th. My computer can handle ARMA II full graphics, so I have no idea why this is even possible anymore. Is there any additional things to help with the map? Also, has the advice worked for anyone?

The 3.91b3f1 is playable on my Atom powered netbook.  It's not brisk, there is substantial lag, but it is playable.

it will eventually get better and then you will get spikes once in awhile.  I feel it is worht it.

How many frames do you get regular and control+space?
It's discussed in detail here: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,185471.0.html
I may have to slim the diplomacy code greatly in the future as that is a major cause of the issue.
Hopefully it's not spaghetti code.  I bet a lot of the processing could be done away with if you used the following baselines:
1. Most nation's don't have a Mazarin or Kissinger in charge of their foreign relations.
2. Even those states with a genius in charge of their diplomacy frequently make very stupid decisions for reasons that resemble idiocy in the long term.
3. Prejudice is frequently used in place of reason in foreign policy.  The League of Nations supporting Mussonlini over Haile Selassie certainly prove this.
4. Diplomats are like dogs: they don't have logic, they use protocol.

It'd be more realistic that way as well.

try it with DirectX9
I run it on directX9 with a normal PC on high graphics with 50 fps
