World Map Speed

Hi folks. The last few hours I also spent exploring the new M&B. It's an amazing release I haven't even dreamed about. It is natural that the coming versions will do a lot for the balancing of the game. One of the things that I still can't really get used to is the map speed, that's why I started this poll after a quick search. I must admit that I really felt relaxed as those parties used to move a lot slower. The whole map felt larger and I enjoyed the time spent traveling form town to town or chasing an enemy party. How do you feel about it?

Rathyr, how do you get the changes to stick? I've edited my module ini file to increase my troops, but the numbers don't seem to be increasing.

And, it may sound stupid, but i couldn't find the line with 'map_speed_modifier: x.x'. The module.ini file is the one in the 'Modules\Native' folder, right?

I found this line instead:
'time_multiplier = 0.25'

Same thing happens with me with when modifying that number, all the others work though. I'm thinking you'd have to start a new game for it to work, not sure though.

nah tried starting a new game. Didn't work.

The exp modifier is really handy though.

Yeah, that's the one. I edited it to 0.15 - that was the default setting from 0.808. It's like perfect for my taste. Didn't have to start a new game.

You do realize you can hit the spacebar to pause map movement? Movement speed hardly matters when you can pause at any time -unless your reflexes are so bad you kick your wife after getting back from your doctor's checkup.

As for map speed movement, I found it boring waiting around for hours to get somewhere. With the new speeds, chasing people down takes less time (real time) and you don't really have to worry about huge parties making you slow (which is probably why the speed was increased in the first place, since the game now intends you to have large armies.)
