I know there are a few threads on this topic already, but they were mostly tutorial, and not updated to v1.011.

Is there a useable map editor for v1.011?
I tried using Thor's editor and I keep getting the following errors.

I already updated my graphics card drivers.

At this point the only thing I am really trying to do is make the default world map larger and the playable map area larger.

Thanks in advance

It appears that the Editor cannot find where your installation of M&B is. Try setting the path manually in the settings.cfg file located in the editorData folder.

I am having the same problem.  latest build of both the game and editor.  I am using the game through Steam (which causes lots of problems).  I tried placing the files in the root, also tried editing the cfg to allow it to path there and still am not able to get it to work properly.  I am running windows on a 64 bit system with steam and running an 8800 gtx.  If anyone has any ideas please send me a pm.  Thanks.  Das.

I tried your method myself and still it wouldn't work, it said the same thing. Do you have any other theories?

Also does your theory mean to set the path to C:/Program Files (x86)/Mount&Blade or C:/Program Files (x86)/Mount&Blade/Modules/MyMod ? Its just bothering me because apparently everyone else has gotten it to work...except me. Oh, and if its crucial I have a Vista.
