Working shield on back

The fact that a unit uses a extra shield on the back should count for someting! My sugestion is that, if someone uses a extra shield on his back projectile andmelle demage on the back should be lowered by +/- 50%. Of course this would lead to the problem of getting the shields to break, but thats another story...

As I understand it, they do prevent a small amount of projectile damage, but not melee. It's not a bad suggestion, but there might be the possibility of turtles walking around with three huscarl shields annoying everyone else.

Just imagine that the backstabbed can not direct the shield and thats the reason.

EDIT: I play with trashy low graphic what would make the gameplay much cooler btw..

the sheild is pressed right up against your back,  so the arrow still peirces it, and into you-  so wouldnt give much protection  (and against melee weapons, pretty much no protection vs crushing and such,  since you are not deflecting the blow at all)

but the feature is already in,  it reduces projectile damage a little bit,  but not a drastic amount.

EDIT:  enough to warran throwing your sheild on your back if you find yourself fleeing from archers (ie: on horseback, making an escape)  but not enough to bring along a second sheild just to do that,  the speed penalty isnt worth it.

Hmm... but then it should wound your hands too! Because I've seen loads of times that arrows went through the shield and are through the arms as well!
