Wondering about mods

The enthusiastic noob here again. Man is this forum huge

First of all, sorry if there's a mod guide or something somewhere. Didn't find one.

My question: What are the major/main mods to tweak but most importantly add gameplay content?

From what I've gathered the major ones are Expanded Gameplay III and Lords and Realms. Can they be combined? Or if you had to choose whick one do you take? Both look great, but I'm leaning towards Lords and Realms really being the overall favourite?

Having tons of fun with vanilla used with bigger troops and the battle sizer, but these mods do seem awesome.

If you are enjoying vanilla M&B than just try this mod for now. It only expands the troop trees of factions so you have a bit more to work with when upgrading troops.
Sorry, also includes some new weapons and armors
Expanded Commander Troop Trees

Looked great until I saw the flintlock pistol. I just can't stand powder weapons in games like these. Thanks for the tip though!

I'll probably finish my current campaign in Vanilla and then go for Lords and Realms.

Oh btw, there are graphic fixes? The screens for that mod look better than my original game I think.

That is most likely because of the person that took the screenshots was using a graphics enhancement modification with his game.

Lots of different mods, that for sure. Could this community be bigger than the one for the Elder Scrolls?

And thanks for answering my questions, Redfyre.

I wouldn't say that this community is bigger than the one for Bethesda Softworks. Although I do think that this community is more helpful than the Bethesda community.
For future reference, you do not need to quote the reply directly above you.

We're quite comparable to their community, actually. They have 1,291,166 posts and we have 3,080,154 posts. They have 277,015 registered members and we have 41,472 registered members. Their most users ever online is 5,201, ours is 877. Bunch of lurkers, they are!

Well thats an interesting tidbit of information. lol

We have over twice the amount of posts they do, less than 5 times the amount of registered members they do, and they have over five times the amount of people online at one time.

For some reason the battle sizer combined with Lord and Realms resulted in the game crashing now and then for me so I settled for Native Expansion which is really working well with the battle sizer at 200.

I'd very much recommend Native Expansion to any newbie.
