Never heard of wolves being kept in a zoo. Doesn't seem like a good or necessary thing, given there are plenty of them. Zoos IMO are only somewhat less reprehensible in that, in their modern form, they reflect to some degree the mission to preserve endangered species.

Well now if there weren't so goddamned many of us big-brain high-maintenance apes infesting the planet and colonizing it (and creating the "zoo" as a classic manifestation of colonial dominance over farflung territories) then we wouldn't need zoos as a genetic reservoir of endangered species now would we.
