Nice work, he looks like an Eastern European Haiduk infantryman to me.

Some more reference pictures:

I have more pictures of weapons and armour which I can scan and upload.

May I also suggest setting this mod around 1650 AD, as this would alow you to use some of the models created for the '1628' and 'English Civil War' mods.

It's rather common Polish nobleman- he wears zupan, kolpak hat and sabre (vanilla for now- we are planning about dozen kinds of sabers)
Aqtai, thanks for pics. We already have some of them, but some are new.

Time frame- 1648, Chmilnicki's Uprising. Place- of course south-east polish border- Ukraine, some lands of Crimean Khanate, Podole and Moldavia. And, of course, Wild Fields. He who had read "With fire and sword" by Sienkiewicz know what I'm talking about. He who didn't read- there is still time to fix that mistake. I'm still making list of mods that can be help- "1628" is one of them. Then, we will negotiate what can we borrow from them.
We still need a map of Ukraine from XVIIc.- strangly, but we could found nothing in net. Somebody knows some good sites with maps?

You're welcome.

As I said I have more reference pictures you may find useful, I just haven't got around to scanning them. Unfortunately I can't help you further as I have absolutly no idea how to make models, meshes or textures.  With regards to the timeframe, 1648 sounds perfect, and far more interesting, by 1683 most people were wearing uniforms and armour was on the verge of being abandoned.

With regards to 1628, I think it was abandonned because Amman Da Stazia couldn't find anyone to make meshes and textures for her, although bits of it may be useful. Thinking about it now I don't think the 'English Civil War' mod got anywhere either, it's stuck in development hell waiting for new meshes and textures.

I'm afraid I'm one of the people who hasn't read the trilogy, the English translation is out of print and second-hand copies cost a fortune.

Here's suppose to be XVIIc. RP map. http://edukacja.demart.com.pl/demart45/redir.jsp?place=galleryStats&id=419
I don't know if it's any good since It's in pdf which I can't read from this machine.

EDIT: Managed to open the file (though pdf drawings are not very P200 friendly)
Looks like this map is all we need to start. But I might be wrong since i'm a history dilettante.

Not bad, not bad...useful for polish part of the map. But we need more specialized map- and I fought that it would be a good idea to include also part of Crimean Khaganate, Moldavia and Ottoman Empire- last two are not included in first release, but maybe later...

We are just starting to collect images (thanks to Zahir from our forum ) and we are grateful for any help. If you want to join to our team(we need every single new member- don't worry if you cannot make models-me either ) this is our website (ask Alex):

Has anybody played that mod (I mean 162:cool:? It's on 7.31 so I cannot test it. How many, and what items were used?
I did not hear on "English civil war" mod earlier. Did they released any beta?

Yet another link to a whole hell of historical maps: http://www.wodzu.tonet.pl/republika_prokonsularna/En/163xCoTNRP.html

It's rather quantity over quality, but might prove useful at some point.

For those of you that are interested, Osprey's Polish Winged Hussar 1576–1775 (Warrior 94) is now available. It is probably quite relevant for this mod.

Hey people!! Realy nobody can help with modeling ?! News and new items/materials on forum : http://www.withfireandswordmod.fora.pl/

We need experienced modellers. I know, that a lot of them is just busy with their projects, but i hope, that at least few of them will find a bit of free time to help us. As far, we wants to use some of Luigi's textures. His rapiers and firearms from Dukes and Mercenaries, seems to be excellent addition to our project. I would like also to ask all "free" modders for help. At this adress you can find general idea of our mod. : http://www.withfireandswordmod.fora.pl/index.php    I would ask all Russians and Turkish men for help. Same with Swedish, and German. We can create historical mod, based on 17th century history of our countries, and i believe, that it can be just one of the best mods ever.

Specias thanks for Aqtai, Turkish advisor

P.S. (Sorry for my english. I'm not a native speaker.)

I've done beta map  You can download it here : http://rapidshare.de/files/28432585/mapbeta001.rar
