First, when seigeing Citys or castles, to have the option to choose. Spend 8 hours building a ladder, or 16 hours for 2 ladders. Or 3 days for a seige tower, or a week for a pair of seige towers. Or a combination of the above, like a siege tower and a pair of ladders!
Heros, Rolf, borcha, etc would rock if you had a dialog screen to initiate combat.
"Attack at dawn, noon, dusk" then leave them with their siege tower/ladder, you go lead the rest of yours guys up the Other tower, and attack at the same time. Or even if your close to them and your attacked if they'd come help instead of just running away.
Now you can overwhelm city defenses if you have the means to do so.
Being tied to a single ladder at an impossible angle, with no gap for your troops to actually get into the city/castle with sucks the big one.
Just finished taking Valuca, 380 defenders vs me & 400 + Hired Blades and Vaegir Knights.
Of all those men, I'm the only one who actually made it INSIDE the bloody walls. Ended up being a snipers war with crossbows until I got them down to the last 10 men. Then I sent the blades forward till the 4 lords inside were knocked out. Ran up the ladder jumped in and killed 5 crossbow men for the win. Yes I won, but the way I won sucks.
Siege equipment, catapults, ballistas, Trebuchets, preferably all able to be manned by the player.
Break the wall so there is a gap and ideally the game would pop up.
Do you want to "lead troops into battle, send troops forward without you, leave" Same as any other battle.
Don't get me wrong, I'm for sure a M&B addict. Love whats been done so far. I just see lots of room for improvement yet.
Keep up the good work! <Salute>
