Behold, the land of Carnage. Once a proud kingdom, unified under one throne, the land has fallen into turmoil. Five score ago, a bloody feud started between two twin siblings, each of which had a claim to the throne. There had been a mistake at their birth, and it was unknown which was the eldest. And so, John the Stubborn gained allies in the southwestern forestlands of Avardia, while Fredrick the True gained support in the southeastern plains of Calavera. Thus began The War of The Twins, a violent feud where brother fought against brother. The war raged on for almost a decade. During this time, several northern kings appeared, and the Nornmen cultures formed their own kingdoms to join the fighting. In a siege on the once capital town of Bredby, John tried to take the holding from his brother. During this battle, both brothers ended up dying, ending the Mone Dynasty of Carnage, and beginning a new age of blood.

It has been nearly a century since that fateful day that the great Kingdom of Carnage died. Today, brave warriors continue to fight for their lords in the seemingly endless violence for the throne of the land. Will you be able to claim the Throne of Carnage, and end the bloodshed once and for all?


Hello everybody, my name is Ramaraunt. I am an active member in the Persistent World mapping community, and have recently begun experimenting with module development. I hope to someday pursue a career in game development, and I see this as a stepping stone towards that goal.

I plan on making this mod rich with lore for players to get lost in. I'm basing it off of a backstory I was working on a while back for a story I never wrote. I already have plans for how to incorporate the lore in a way to make this module truly unique and entertaining in its own way. However, I am very new at this, and would love to have some help working on this modification. I already have a few people helping me, but the more the merrier. I would especially love to get some guidance from someone who is experienced at making modules, because right now I am still trying to learn the ropes.

I'm currently designing the map, which I made in Blender and imported into Swyter's Cartographer. The hard part right now, is filling the map up with towns that have both interesting and realistic sounding names.
 
I have plans for a religions system. I know this will require scripting, which I have no clue how to do. Hopefully someone will be willing to donate time to help me do this.

Makerism:
Makerism is the belief that the three gods Faven, Bimak, and Irkos worked together to create all of creation. This belief came about a thousand years ago, when worshipers of each of these gods were at constant war with one another. Amidst the fighting, a man named Haravin came forth with the idea that each of these gods were in fact allies, and that the fighting should stop. At first, this belief, called Makerism, was not taken seriously. But over time, followers of the faith slowly grew to the point that it was the most dominant religion in all of Salior (the world). Players of Carnage -Brother on Brother have a choice to follow one of the three gods of Makerism. Each of the gods gives certain buffs.

Irkos - God of War. Irkos is the god of soldiers and battle. Followers of Irkos will recieve buffs in strength and power strike, and will lower the cost of buying troops.

Bimak - God of Knowledge. Bimak is the god of civilization and builders. Followers of Bimak will recieve increased tax income from towns and castles, and will lower the cost of paying for stationed troops.

Faven - God of Love. Faven is the god of growth and life. Followers of Faven will receive increased tax income from villages, and will receive buffs to wound treatment and Surgery.

The Bloodwines: A different religion, which is regarded by most to be a cult. Nearly two centuries ago, a man named Rama_Blackadder in the land of Avalon (An island region northwest of Carnage) founded a notorious brigand army that pillaged across the land. His rampage reached its highpoint when his army captured the castle of Mactavict, using it as a base of operations. However, Rama gained many enemies, and he soon found thousands of soldiers besieging his holding. In the following battle, Rama was slain. However, many of his followers came to believe he ascended into godhood, and thus the cult of The Bloodwines formed. The bloodwines believe Rama ascended and became the god Ramaraunt, who teaches that the weak shall pay the strong or die.

Ramaraunt - God of blood. Ramaraunt is the god of pilaging and sacrifices. Followers of Ramaraunt will recieve the ability to recruit Bloodwine troops from around Carnage, who have their own unique troop tree. Bloodwines are also friendly with the Bloodwine faction, an initially non-landowning faction comprised of small armies of brigands that pilage around the northern countryside. Finally, worshipers of ramaraunt recieve bonuses to looting and tracking skills.
 
You know game developers need thick skin to take criticism and backlash right.  You can't ban them or cry and rage-quit when they yell at you :grin:.

Working on getting factions done. Man this is confusing. Help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a question: Should I delete the native factions and replace them, or should I start with kingdom_7 as my first module faction?

You are starting now, so pick the right baseline for your project. Native is old and lacks many features from mods.
You could use Floris (few years old, but quite good), etc and mod from there.

Check the released mods for the ones that have OSP code, and see which one you like more.

Floris, Brytenwalda, Silverstag, .... are examples

How exactly would I use floris or another modpack? Do they have special module systems? Or do I just use the native module system and compile it into the floris folder.
 
I got the floris mod suite now. I guess ill have to do major changes to my tutorial series as well...
